I've run into those. Have to range them or they chew you up. Fortunately I bought 3x Maulers when the Assaults were on sale last week.

LBX OP, plz nerf!

You should call that thing potato masher... why aren't those guys shooting you at all? However, the lbx is one of the fun guns in this game, always loved to take two of them in my Orion. Not that effective but this frickin *BAAAM* makes up for it

If you ever buy an Illya (Cataphract Hero), give the 3 LBX, 3ML build a try. You won't get focused as much as a Mauler. Wicked fun if you can position right. Quickdraw Hero (IV-4) with 2 LBX (and 2ML) is also a blast. The cool down makes it feel similar to a Rifleman Legend Killer but with better armor and jump jets (at the cost of lower hardpoints). Can even pull it off with a std engine. Lastly, try LBX on a Panther. Abuse those cool down quirks. Stay with an Assault or Heavy group, but keep moving and blasting away with them and you will be shocked at how well you can do (assuming you can protect that arm).

I tried 3 x LBX on IM with no success. Need to try it again.
With XL300 and 3xUAC/5 + 3xMLs IMHO is one of the most fun hero mech of the game, absolutely deadly in short-medium distance...

Great.
Now I have to buy another one, cuz I have no doubt that build would be a keeper as well...and we just had a hero sale too.

Edit: returning to the LBX theme...I've been seeing a quite a few "shot gun" DDCs too: 2LBX, 3SRM6 Atlas. Watched one guy put up over a thousand damage and 6 kills...he wasn't holding back either. He led the push across the low land on Frozen City. Makes me want to give that a try too.

I like how some people say the LBX's suck and needs buffs.

While I'll won't turn down buffs for it, I'll just end up wrecking harder with it then I already do.

People just don't know how to use them, they try to use them like normal AC's which is just not gonna work.

I think LBX's are in a cozy spot now because people that know how to use them, puts them to great effect and people that don't...well they avoid them and claim LBX's suck.

If they get a buff then people will use them alot more then they do now and find out how effective they can be and others will start to cry nerf and then they will be bad.

I Used in the Video 1R Mauler, but i would recommend MX90. If i took the Video the 1R and 1P Mauler had 10 % Quirk of ballistic cooldown ... already nerfed to 5% ... so i rather forget about the 5% and take the 15 % Range and Acceleration of the MX90 ... furthermore i recommed to use the LBX in a Range of max 200 - 300 m, with MX90 a little bit more range but not more because of the spread and its wasting ammo .. 140 Ammo a really fast empty and if you aim good you are over 1000 dmg at the end of the round.

with Srms ... because of i often had no ammo left ... thats why more muni = More dmg ... also worth to try

Of course the Armor is not right in Smurfy, back is always 4 in my Builds but feel free to use a litte bit more but of course not 25 or 38.

I just bought my own 3 maulers with cbills.

FIRST MATCH 4 kills within 30 seconds in basement of HPG.

It would be if the hero mechs were better than the standard ones or top tier in general, but they normally aren't. Couple exceptions of course, but that seems to only last for a couple of patches. Not being pay to win is one thing this game doesn't do a bad job of.

There are enough alternativ mechs with similiar hardpoints … also Events where you can Grab mcs and supply keys for chaches with ecm … or faction war Archivments are also mc prizes … nothing Pay to win here - eccept urbie - He is Pay to loose
