These are my personal thoughts....
I am soooo tired of seeing would-be pilots whine about "boating" a particular weapon. One has to remember there is always a "counter build" to any other build out there. Every problem in battle has its solution; hence you have the thinking mans fps game. I think MWO has an outstanding solution already in place (logarithmic head buildup). It makes outstanding logical/scientific sense. An energy draw system, as I understand, will simple be another "heat management" system. Besides, why would I ever manufacture and sell a mech capable of carrying 10 ER-Llas, that runs on a tiny power supply? Not to mention, Nuclear power deserves its recognition. I'm still waiting for when cored mechs become deadlier than the enemy. However, no one will ever build/sell a big rig with a lawn mower engine, a rubber band powered fighter jet. Weapons are already limited by the hardpoint system, slots availiable, weight, H/t, etc.

It will also not stop me boating 4-6 AC2 when I get too tired to pilot my brawler. LRM boats will still hate me, and fast mech builds will still mop the floor with my heavy, slow, overweight, multi cannon, ammo lugging ***. And I will always say "gg guys. look for me next round!"

Finally, every problem has a solution. A MechWarrior must adapt to these problems in the heat of gameplay. If a player cannot do this, then they should learn this skill in the academy "running cored/gauntlet" section, or stay in the rear of their team while they learn. Both of these options are great fun even for the grey haired MechWarrior such as myself.

p.s. I also CHOOSE to not boat any laser weapon as the ENTIRE MAP knows EXACTLY where I am when I fire. I'm sure I'd also hate hot maps. PGI please do not waste time or money on this element. Please try to avoid things that will turn battle tech into titanfall. Instead spent time and money on things like core breaching. Just a thought. O7

nobody is raging.

no sir, I don't get bothered with the trolls anymore. I just pity them.

Now he's gonna make another lame attempt to point out that he has me on ignore.

Is he a troll?

I mean a genuine troll, not an accidental, has no idea how stupid he sounds, kinda troll? Because I've been through a lot of his "logical arguments" that are just him spinning in circles accusing people of the very thing that he is doing is spades and he just can't seem to "get" it.

Hold on a second......that does sound like a troll.

Nope, ....sorry....I'd like to say that you are right and he is a troll, but I just can't give him credit enough to be up to that. It takes a special kinda dense to seem like a troll, but not be one, and I think that that is the answer.

I have noticed that his spelling has improved though. At least he learned something.

sure, give me an example of a logical argument i have used that is me spinning in circles.

You can either wiggle out of that and prove that you're trolling, or you can prove that I do indeed do that, and I am trolling. Which is it?

or the third option, just use an insult and assert that I don't know anything, and avoid the fact that you never seem to ever prove much of anything every time you post.

Once you actually prove someone wrong, like factually, as Ive seen people do to BW pretty much all the time, and that person continues with their rhetoric, YES they are a troll.

According to my notifications he hasnt understood what ignore means yet though

I think that the biggest problem is that he thinks his "logic" is actually the logic employed by other people.

At first glance it seems a tad sad, but then I just turn it around and inside out and I darned well ADMIRE his pluckiness in the face of multiple instances of being just plain wrong. His unending cheer-leading regardless of the size of the screw up and never acknowledging being wrong is nothing short of Olympic caliber.

I learned my lesson, to never argue with regular logic against crazy pants logic. You can win, but they will never know it.

Still...as I said before he can learn. Spell check has been doing wonderful things for his posts. They seem much more semi-literate now.

Ahhh I see there is "logic" and common sense. He does have "logic" (though extremely flawed to us).

Common Sense : Energy Draw; Oh look another convoluted system added to MWO to limit alphas to 30 DMG because Ghost Heat had loopholes. This will never be explained to a new user, most likely not explained or added to the existing MWO Academy. So unless you frequent the forums which sadly even the staff don't seem to do. You will not know about it.

His Logic: PGI can do no wrong!

What is always in the back of our heads.
WARNING HEAVY SARCASM!
(Ghost heat, 3pv, 4 man group limits, 8 v 8 moved to 12 v 12 (to save server usage), sticking with Dx 9, loot boxes, and we all know MG (best weapon in the game!) LRM's are SOOOOOO OVER POWERED y u no nerf , and of course we all love buying mech packs! Without all these great things and changes the game would be trash!

So to make this short and sweet. The heat penalty system we have now, If you carry a certain number of weapons and fire them at once, you get a penalty. The new system, all weapons drain the energy bar and when you fire over capacity you get a heat penalty.

All those who are making it more complicated then it needs to be or implying that the old system was better cant seem to figure out that the new stytem works very similar to the old system. To be clear, the old system was boating a specific type of weapon for penalty, the new system is encasing all weapons under one category for a penalty.

"While the system may appear complex based on the amount of information in this post, the Energy Draw system is fairly simple at its core."

"Most weapons have a Weapon Energy Value. It is this value which determines how much Energy is drawn from the Energy Status Bar when the weapon is fired."( this mimics heat values)

"If you consume more Energy than you have available in your Energy Status Bar, the Critical Energy Indicator will light up to indicate that you have incurred a Heat Penalty. This Heat Penalty applies an additional .5 Heat for every point of Energy over which you have exceeded the Energy currently available in your Energy Status Bar."( the penalty system is nearly similar, the only different is that is is set to match alpha's and high rates of fire)

its not complicated and people are taking in either hypothetical, or basing information on the PTS which they know is FAR from being complete in terms of being a workable system, I repeat, the current PTS is not a final factor in the new system, even if some people are making it seem that way.

You don't need much in the way of core information than the old system which penalized boating a specific type(energy, missile, ballistic), to the new system which looks at all weapons has a whole.

Just gonna reqoute this. I gotta stop conversating with the same people over again.
