Looks Great!
Ok hardpoints.
Needs a look at quirks. Most are too specific and need to be spread out more generally. Eg, Z model AC 20 quirk. Why not just AC you only have one slot. SO you want all Zs to use AC 20. Very limiting.
Sluggish but I hope this irons out with double basics.
Lots of CT damage. I don't usually XL assaults but hey lets try it.
Did I mention Looks Great!?
Don't really notice the Tacticom enhancment. Anyone else see this?
Do like torso pitch. Thank you for making this decent!

Looks great from cockpit. That's about it. So far every other assault mech has beaten it, but maybe there is a magic load-out. Side torsos go very fast so not XL friendly at all. Can't carry the load-outs of other assaults. Sensors seem no different, in-game, but I guess they do something. So far I would say I do better in any other mech regardless of weight class. Mauler leaves the Cyclops in the dust.

I am still trying to find its place yes. Other assaults do better than Cyclops in any front line role. So it seems its needs more IW stuff. I will say being an IW mech. Why does it not have more mech module slots? Freaking Locust has more. Bump it up one. And I'm sticking to my guns on the quirk pass. Too specialized.

Feels more responsive than the Mauler due to the bigger engine, probably do with some higher acceleration quirks to help set it apart from the Mauler, maybe some more structure quirks across the board, hit boxes feel fine to me, but, I don't stuff an XL into mine. Honestly it feels about how I wanted it too, it isn't like an up armored heavy which is what I feel people want assaults to be, but, it isn't a snail so it can actually go places and react to incoming fire.

I agree with more generalized ballistic quirking. I'd much rather a blanket 5 or 10% ballistic cooldown than a 5 or 10% AC20 or gauss cooldown, especially on the variants with MANY ballistic hard points.

i just had a great first game with the 10-Q. 4 LRM10s, 3 SRM4s, 2 MLs, TAG, Beagle, 340XL with DHS, 14 pts short of max armor, 7.5 tons for the LRMs and 3 tons for the SRMs, AMS. 4 kill blows, 5 assists, 1 solo, 3 KMDD, over a thousand damage. I ran the adv sensor range and LRM10 cooldown and range modules. Had a slight "heat" issue and 14 free crits so went to Endo steel, 350XL with another DHS, switched the medium lasers for medium pulse, and removed a half ton of armor to increase the LRM ammo pack. I am getting sensor locks at 1350m, shooting at 1100 so I can hang in the back, provide locks for folks and dead fire the LRMs at enemies who are just standing and poking.

Add a beagle probe and a sensor range module. It's over 1400 at that point, you definitely notice!

See above post about not having enough module slots. Taken up with the absolutely necessary Radar Deprivation.

One thing to note....at 1400m (or frankly anything over 600-700m) with LRM's, your opponent has ALOT of time to get to cover before you can really rock them. ToF too long really for that to be super effective. You'll see as you climb tiers that you'll likely need to be closer (much closer, preferably "second row") to be truly effective with that kind of LRM loadout.

Which means the added range contributes to situational awareness but little else. Not convinced it's worth the bang for the buck really (but I'm hopeful things will improve).

I am enjoying the Cyclops. My most success being with the CP-10-Q. I have hit 1037damage on a match, average around 800. I do have a great setup for it that I put together.....but it is top secret Posted Image. The Heroic isn't to bad, getting close to tweaking my loadout to the point of perfection for me. With the other variants, I have been stumped. I don't see any different with the sensor thing they have, and....the Cyclops can be "tanky" if you don't Leroy Jenkins the battlefield.....

My impressions are this:
  • With zero basics, it feels faster than it probably is and doesn't suffer from Fastlas disease where 60 kph feels like a death sentence
  • The hit boxes aren't bad; the arms help
  • The sensor bonuses are amazing; if the rest of the team doesn't appreciate it, I don't care
  • Too many GRs, for my liking but that should get better with the charge mechanism going bye bye
  • I don't like the missile platform because it is too weak (see the Archer disease)
  • The Atlas Lite doesn't have enough punch so it shouldn't be played as such

I have watched the Cyclops perform quite well today. Few are mastered maybe, but they do quite well. It takes a while to do well in a new mech. Was trying my dual PPC ac 5 Marauder on test server out today and I am more accustomed to piloting quick mechs lately and it has taken a while to do even ok with it still.

SRM 40... nothing says Deterrent more to anyone that wants to come into a cover heavy area than SRM 40 to the face hole.

I backed mine off to 7 srm4's so I could mount 2 PPC on it as well. Works great.

I like all of them except for the P. Solid, has good hardpoints, decent hitboxes, moves better than a Mauler. The sensor bonus doesn't seem to help much though.
