To get this back on track, here is my complaint: The Awesome was built around 3 PPCs. No other mech in MW:O was built to do that. YET, the Awesome is getting penalized, not because it is an Awesome that comes stock with 3x PPCs, because other players are putting 3+ PPCs on mechs not designed to do so. This is happening because PGI decided to give the community creative license on how to alter builds and do so with the only limitations being the type and number of hard points. So, fast forward 5 years from Alpha and they're introducing a second version of a heat penalty system to curb players from boating heavy energy weapons/vast quantities of weapons and it has, as a result, forced them to create an added penalty, on top of Ghost Heat version 2.0, to stop players from doing what they shouldn't be doing. All the while, we come full circle back to the Awesome now not being able to do what it was designed to do. NOTE: It was never supposed to fire 3, 3, 3, etc. It was designed to fire 3, then 2, then another 2, then return to the beginning of the cycle, IF you're talking about TT play.
So, the question is, why is the Awesome paying the price for the stupidity of people? It'll still be a good platform for the PPC. And, the added head penalty from PTS v2 isn't going to curb players from doing so. And, finally, it does have pro-PPC quirks (for now). But, again, the added heat penalty applied to the PPC, along with a longer cool down and the return of the 10/15 heat, shouldn't apply to a mech built around the weapon. It would be giving the Catapult an LRM penalty because douchebags that run the Golden Boy like to chain spam LRM5s.
