Same problem here: no password field. And now I had to read that this problem seems to be from last year. Really guys? What can I expect if something as basic as that does not work? 10 minutes ago I thought I would give the game another try but now I think I rather waste my time with something else than searching 1 hour for a way to change my password.
Simple solution: uninstallation is in progress. Very disappointed.

I honestly do not understand the problem you have.
Here is how you reset your password:
And please dont say it dont work, because I actually did the things in the list above while I was making the list so I know it works.
I hope this helps those of you with problems.
Here is how you reset your password:
- Go to your Profile (top right of the MWO web page).
- Click on Forums Profile
- In the top right corner below the search bar, click where it says "Edit Profile"
- On the list on the left click on "Email & Password"
- Change your password
And please dont say it dont work, because I actually did the things in the list above while I was making the list so I know it works.
I hope this helps those of you with problems.
I followed your advice. I navigated to "e-mail & password". I pressed it and it does not give me the option to change my ******** password. My StarCraft 2 account was recently hacked and I use the same e-mail and password for it as I do MWO. I really need to change my password. I have followed your instructions 5 times now but the outcome is the same, no fields for changing my password are shown. WTF.

I as well see no password changing input fields in my profile. I also can not paste my password into the game login
Please implement pasting into the client and talk to your web designer about resolving the changing password option. It is clearly not easily accessible.

Seconding the fact that this needs to be fixed yesterday. I'm going to be emailing the MWO support team and I'm going to be emailing them often. I would suggest you all join me, as this is ridicoulous.

Same problem here! When I registred I had my password manager create a 25+ encrypted password. But then I couldnt copy/paste it so i have to spend 5 minutes just to log-in to the game. And the game logs out if you dont play,
But I thought I could change it but no password field in profile. But I would rather not change to a password like "tomato", I want security. So the best would be if copy/paste worked in game window.

Well I figured out a "workaround" for those of us who use complex passwords. However, it is a bit of a hassle. If you are using KeePass, create a duplicate entry for the client, then set up autotype to enter the password instead of username and password.
Now as for changing passwords, that still needs to be fixed. PGI's method is very nonintuative.

Yes I am using KeePass and I tried make a entry for the game window but I cant get it to work. I put MechWarrior Online in Auto Type (Target Window). I must be doing something wrong. Thanks for a god tip anyways!

[UPDATE] After hours of trying to get it to work I finally did it. I had to start KeePass in Admin Mode but it didnt work after I logged out windows 7 and back in. So I think that was it, it works now anyway.

I just ran into this same problem. No password field to set a new password via the forum page for "email and password" settings. So I decide to go the "forgot password" route. Oh, what's this? The link I get via email is some laughable page with a single input field to set a new password. Even better, the link is using HTTP as the transport, so it's not encrypted at all. And yes, I checked the page source to verify that it's not posting to a secure URL. And to add insult to injury, I use the same link sent via email but change the http at the front to https, and what do you know, it works just fine that way too.
So that's completely broken and stupid. Normal people aren't going to realize this can be done. They're simply going to send their shiny new password over the wire in plain text. This seems like a pretty obvious failure on someone's part. Even more so since it's totally fixable by adding the letter s to a script someplace.

First post after watching the forums very irregularly.
Page 1 had a link: https://mwomercs.com/profile/password
I presume it has been 'fixed' since that 1st December 2012 post but the "normal" way by navigating through the Profile page doesn't show the Password field. I had to check this link and I can confirm it works (5 minutes ago).
I needed to change the password because my password had been compromised and simply "Forgot Password" will not do because the email account I registered with is no longer active (and can not be recreated). So there are reasons why people need to directly change the password without going through the "Forgot Password" option, if there is any (I haven't checked).
Hope this helps.
