Not cermlas, cmplas, pulses, wubs.
5 cermlas are still punished.
again its is slas, not clans... clans arent affected by this change at all, still 6 tops or ghost heat.
I dont know of a single is mech which uses small lasers and i dont know single is mech which might have 11e hardpoints to fire them in alpha...
Small price for all the benefits...
Also you forgot higher optimal range on erppc or lack of ammo. Tradeoffs tradeoffs...
And clan erppc boat will hardly overheat when loaded with dhs, for example warhawk, youre looking at over a minute of 30 dmg ppc alphas, or about 20seconds if you throw in another 30 dmg to chainfire which will result in each arm being fired 3-4 times for a total of 180-240 dmg. Pretty decent if you can hit with those and i wouldnt say too hawt.
Even something like shadowcat doesnt have much problem with dual ppcs(btw bb 3 erll shc, build vairety will miss you)
Gauss doesnt apply enough dmg fast enough to be worthwhile.
Gauss can be supplemented with backup weapons, same way as erppc can.
And yeah im looking at you hbk2c A which ppl run with 6 ersl and 2 erppc or something similiar.
I have run dual cERPPC builds and they are too hot in my opinion, spotted multiple quad cERPPC warhawks but that doesnt change their squishiness. If left alone yeah you can do damage but I have been hunting those mechs with my phoenixhawks (6 Mlaser or ERPPC+ 3 Mlaser) or shadowcats, (triple ERLL and dual LPL). So far I havent lost to those builds specifically. I got myself killed by walking around the wrong corner couple times or so but generally those builds havent done anything spectacular in the games I spotted them.
Sofar those are good sniper builds but once you close the gap they are dead. ED wont change that.
Gauss not applying damage fast enough...are we playing the same game? 2000 velocity 15 damage pin point weapon not doing damage fast enough...?! Yes there are tradeoff in ammo and weight but that doesnt suddenly make gauss bad.
And did you ever try to hit cERPPC at 800+ meters? Only way to do it is with a big TC without it you just sidestep it or the target is a potato. Most fights happen around 500-600 meters so the range advantage is kinda weak. With only certain maps and specific points on the map sniping from that far away also easily isolates you making you a free kill if the enemy sniffs you out.
Just to be clear yes I think cERPPC is abit too strong, however alittle bit of ED tinkering can fix that. But even so that doesnt suddenly make gauss irrelevant.
Sorry I misread about small laser but thats a problem of the weapon system itself not really ED related.
