Can I ? Yes.

Will I? No.

I established a few weeks ago over the course of several pages of tortuous discussion that you live in an alternative reality where facts, argumentation and alternative points of view are subjected to fallacious logic, straw-manning and other debating sleights of hand until a moderator eventually steps in to mercy kill the thread.

So, no, I decline your invitation to squander more of my leisure hours providing to you evidence of things that you could already see, like the rest of us, if only you chose to see.

You never did, and give me a link to that so called discussion, and I will give you the link to where players purposefully and continuously straw-man the Concept of ED.

http://mwomercs.com/...d/page__st__100

Also you make nonsense threads like these, and your hurt because somebody in your life is actually challenging the things you say. Even though I proved to you that their were times in the past were they put the roadmap out late and nobody gave a care, including you. The only people who ever have an actual problem when I contend the things you say are you, deathlike, mcgral, buddah, and probably a few others. Less than 15 people I am sure.

"So, no, I decline your invitation to squander more of my leisure hours providing to you evidence of things that you could already see, like the rest of us, if only you chose to see."- that is another fallacious statement right there. You keep making them, and I will keep pointing them out.

"If only players like Appogge can see my side of things, then they would based things on valid evidence like the rest of us."

Yes i get the point, people want something, and the dev's did something else that either they think should of been in the game, Or after the game met some standard they thought.. I just don't agree with it..

It would of been very simple for them to say.. the game is no in early access and then added it.. And people still would of complained about it only this time it would be, How can you leave early access? or how can you release a DLC when XY and Z are not finished. It is the same tired argument.

Game companies can develop how they want if you want in on that, It is simple, Get a job with said company, and you can be the one making all the decisions after enough years behind you... I kinda like the approach that they are developing and adding to the game, even if it is DLC, (the dirty word these days) As long as they are still working on the base game. Studios have many working parts. If this can expand the game, create revenue that perhaps highers more people and the game is better off in the long run, i don't see why this is bad.

I'd be more worried, if they just kept working on the same thing and nothing really happened.. releasing a giant area, that you say is even better than the previous, that means they are learning, and improving.

Like this game people complain about mech packs all the time.. But they have dedicated artists/animators that do that. They don't code the engine, or work on balance, or even make levels.. They build mechs and that is how the game makes money, to pay for the level designers, and coders, and engineers and everything else.. So all getting ride of them would do would be to stop money from coming in, or reduce it, and in no way help the base game.

Most people don't belong playing early access, Nor should they buy a game before they are finished if they can't handle DLC. If these things bother you, then just wait... I choose to wait all the time.. This winter it will be 18 years waiting to buy Starcraft II.. (the complete just came out last year was it?) I'd still be waiting to pick up crusader kings II, and that came out in 2011.. and starcitizen it will be like 8 years before i get it..

Make informed choices, and people would be a lot less angry.. I for one, only play things i enjoy,, and enjoy them how they are at the time.

Fair point.

In my eyes though it still makes the developers look a bit shady, even if they had the best intentions.

Da Lube? That's just PGI prepping you for another "Right-Angle Session".

Ark... Spent hundreds of hours building castles and taming and breeding Dinos. (All on privately-owned servers). The daily need to log just feed dinos started to get to me. .. that all the effort to recreate a new base after a server wipe - (it was needed after massive game change)

The forums are much more toxic but their devs/community staff (at least when I was still playing it), were at lot more active on the forums. And even encouraged all feedback postive and negative. They wanted to know what people really thought. (This was posted after a majorly game change; rescaling of heath and damage levels).

I can see how you could think that.. But, I also wonder how much of that update also lead to behind the scenes updates that the player base does not see.. Kinda like when PGI did almost a year long back-end update, which from the gamer's eyes was only a new mech lab,, But in reality it was far more, turning the engine/updates modular, among other things that we just don't see from an architecture standpoint.

@chuckles I can see how that can bug folks.. Like back when i was playing STO in Beta, they offered a life time sub for 160 bucks. At the time i was paying 180 bucks a year for 2 games, and i figured i loved star trek and the game was tons of fun, even though the ground game was not so much. But the space combat was incrediblly fun for me, It was the iconic slow paced space battles of old like in the next gen series. You had time to do things as you came around for another pass.. ect But right when the game left close beta and was released, space combat got a huge boost in speed, which completely changed the feel of it. While the space battles are still fun, it kinda turned me off, and i really don't play the game that much as they never did give you solid options to avoid the ground combat, outside of auto-complete missions,, which maybe i'll start doing more, get to a ground mission, use my daily auto, and come back the next time and play in space..

But see it comes back to my point.. this was the last game i bought before it was released,, around the same time i pretty much stopped buying games that were not Goty. But that said, you do run the risk of a game not selling well if you are not helping the cause, leaving games with less DLC, and less updates. So it is a crap shoot. enough have to play early, for those that wait to get the rewards later. Civ Beyond earth is a prime example of this, not a bad game, just not enough support, and it is a one of... An expansion or two could of made the game really great, but lack luster sales left it as is, and they moved on to Civ VI.

that is why i always thank those that buy early, and support early development.. just like i encourage those that enjoy the game now, to spend a little cash. It can only help in the long run. While i do like the direction the game has taken, it is just slow.. But if another 4-5 years pass, and the game gets a greatly expanded CW, and PVE i will be one happy camper..

then of course when it finally shuts down, if they would only release the server engine so we can keep on playing.... I can dream can't i?

I can't see the wind, or the electricity that powers my computer, either. But I can observe them through the effect they produce on their environment. You are correct as to not having the tools to prove raw player numbers. But what one can observe is the Forums, amongst other things, and the shrinking base of forumites, the general lack of passion either way from those remaining? Are all very good indicators, without even getting into the graveyard of FW, the MM issues, match quality, etc.

But please, keep waltzing on the dance floor, while the ship hurtles toward and iceberg.

I'd like to step in and say that in the short time i have been playing mwo (about two weeks) i have never in my lifetime of gaming, met as many friendly people in all of the other communities as i have here. Every match i've been in has been full of some of the friendliest people i could ever dream of meeting in a game.

so when announcements views shrink and consistently so then I'll say you have a point. One thing I am not going to do anymore is start to object to people personal experience with the MM and match quality. FW is a bust so i'll grant you that.

If your viewing threads, or hanging around, Ill assume that you are either interested in the announcements, and therefore the game. the people who claim to be around for some reasons like waiting for the iceberg to hit are probably less than 100 people.

It's a no brainier that threads such as the energy draw Pts get the most attention. if you can't figure that out then you got more problems than MWO
