He's just mad I crushed almost all the arguments and silly comments he makes.

Shouldn't be surprised. If I am surrounded by some people who can't understand that Context is important and that you might use quotes from certain people to demonstrate a point. Then their might be something wrong with the way their brain functions and comes to valid conclusions

Yeah, the way that 3PV snaps to every object is really annoying. I even tried LRMs and it was hard to get locks even then, lol.

Sad thing is, I was still carrying my team each time with 500+ damage. Pugs are awful this weekend!

The only REAL gripe i have about 3pv is that it allows you to see past terrain without exposing yourself for free, which is ********. If you want to see over that ridge you need to get visual on me or deploy a UAV mother F***** not being able to get away from those spots (especially on alpine) is annoying as balls,

But then im reminded by the fact that a mechwarrior running it in an actual FIGHT is as good as dead, its a detrimental auto uncheck selection.

When I started playing I often used it in start, and cursed that it doesn't have radar and I cant even switch to map from it. It seemed really weird that those things drop off when you use it.

It helps steering.

I don't remember if I used it while fighting, probably not. My first mech was Locust with maybe a machine gun.

well you know "PGI lies",

Well, in all honesty, they did. Of course this was after they had taken in a ton of money from the very people they promised that 1PV only would be a "pillar" of the game.

So I can guess those other companies got the same reaction from the same players as the ones here in MWO.

I don't know. But it is apples and oranges. I DO know that PGI not only lost the faith of a huge segment of it's player base at that time, and more importantly lost many players altogether.

People like me get lambasted when I point this out. While It was probably a waste of resources, The "community goodwill is really giving some people here too much credit. I would hold that somebody who is reasonable will look at that and say, Yea what a waste and earned a bit of ire, but that needs to be contrasted with other things they have done.

I never understood the common phenomena of somebody picking and choosing the bits of information they will accept as to affect their "good will". What effects it? how is it determined? and if their are things that lower it, are their not things that can raise it. That is a honest question to ask.

The thing about taking somebody's money and lying in order to have gotten it, is that the people who felt slighted will always remember it. They might forgive, but since money was involved, they will never forget.

Of course there are things that could raise it. The main thing would be one of those simple things that many players have been begging for for years: More community interaction from PGI. It really doesn't even have to be good interaction, as long as it is honest and frequent. Just as importantly, the fact that PGI is unwilling to do that, only makes the trust situation get worse for those who have stuck around since the firestorm.

I'm not talking about a negative reaction to it prior, that is understandable. I'm talking about how people still whine about it on occasion, even though it's an utterly irrelevant thing that in no way meaningfully changed the game.

Yet we still have dozens of thread topics asking to "improve" 3PV.
That was one of the forseen problems of adding 3PV in the first place.

More funny is when we're told directly that the people who gave them the money "arent the target audience" anymore

That is a good point. I believe a lot of players just cannot see from the perspective of those that were there.

Not only was PGI shown to be untrustworthy (and trust is important to grow a game), but PGI's reaction and attitude to the whole situation is a case study of exactly how NOT to interact with your player base.
