You don't think this one if used with team work or really carefully could be useful?

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...43aed99631045c8

It's up to 130 damage fairly quickly if it works. It has the possibility of no ghost heat.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...58f4efc8de1616d

this is what it looks like with one hand! It is very slow. but the range could be used to your advantage like a sniper.

Shortcuts:
1. UAC2
2. Flamer
3. PPCx2 (LorRhand)
4. PPCx2 (LorRhand)
5. ER&PulseLargex3 (LorRhand)
6. ER&PulseLargex3 (LorRhand)
7. InstaDeath Emergency Alpha button!!

Or does the orange/yellow indicator in smurfy not indicate ghost heat?

And if anything the build is just an example. I think it is the only way to make a build with these large guns on this mech. If there is another mech with 10 slots like this and better bonuses maybe it would be a good carry over...

Thinking about it. This may be a good fundamental setup for my KDK-1&2 builds... But with full engines and armor hopefully.

I'm also looking at largemedium and small pulses put together and Smurfy is not showing yellow per hand.. does anyone know if that is the ghost heat indicator?

Awesome Bro!

I've been working on it and I've gotten my average team damage under 100 points per game. Which I feel is a step in the right direction.

They really need to make it so those stupid triangles and boxes quite jumping around. I swear it is impossible to distinguish friend from foe sometimes. A red square from a target can literally be perfectly over a friendly for more than 5 seconds and not have a blue to say it's not what you are targeting. That combined with the nice backside you see from the friendly shooting at the enemy on the other side(And completely covered by the fat mech.) and it can be really easy to pop an alpha or large attack into a friendly unit! ><

So, what exactly is(what defines) a good mech?

I just switched pinky to a long range setup.
Finger Lickin Pinky! <-Just notice this is very similar to The Basilisks build.
Edit: Finger Lickin Pinky2! <- Infinite medium on chain fire.

I just got readjusted to long range and got a decent game out of it.
Posted Image

It is nice having some range again.

And this setup is weird. It can alpha strike, but it will take very small or no damage. It will activate override. But if you alpha while moving with override active you take really tiny damage or no damage at all. And if you alpha strike while not moving(or having not been moving for sometime and absolutely no heat) with override active it does not even register damage at all a good amount of the time... (firing the PPCs on chain, or in general, then hitting alpha is a good way to do it on the run!)

This setup would also be a good base design for the KDK-1. Just remove the PPC's or Large lasers and add other stuff.

This thing can mess up and atlas pretty good too!

Edit: And I think there is a special rule somewhere in one of the hand books. If you get 5 kills it's only fair that you take out one of yours before moving on! 8) Bear Claws are very dangerous!

And I figured out that the game only lets you have 2 LL not 3... I was building on info from Smurfys that is incorrect instead of the games info.

Edit2: I just finally ran my 11 flamer build once. Besides getting into more mechs by accident that really messes the enemy up. even if they fire ballistics for cheap they get really bad looking fast.. It's pretty funny.

Apparantly playing with all flamers drastically drops your rating!!! 8\ This is inexcusable!!

NVM, apparently you can get decent results! ><Posted Image

BTW, about to test this in testing grounds(36 heatsinks!). It's the maximum I can do without getting an STD engine to get to 38 heatsinks.

Results: I could not achieve infinite flame!! 8\ Oddly enough my finger lickin build basically could... I must have moved in a weird way or something.

Times till Shutdown:

Terra Ferma: 56-60 Seconds Standing still!(Starting location)
Terra Ferma: 56 Seconds Running around
Frozen City: 64 Seconds Standing still!(Starting location)
Frozen City: 62 Seconds Running around

Now I have to grind 1-1.5million to get my builds back!! Posted Image <- Where is the crying my eyes out emote?! Testing hurts too much in this game. They need to make it free to switch those parts of the mech after initial purchase!!! Posted Image

What buttons did you use for the Finger Licking Pinky. Were you firing the PPC and ERLL at the same time?

I did:

1. mouse left: PPC's (chain fire)
2. mouse right: Flamer (Easy access for emergencies)
3. mouse back: Medium Lasers (chain fire) (alternatively right or left hand. Sacrifice easy chain or full medium lasers)
4. mouse forward: Wahtever you want. (alternatively right or left hand. Sacrifice easy chain or full medium lasers)
5. mouse wheel back: Medium lasers (non chain; preferential)
6. mouse wheel forward: Large laser(non chain; preferential)
7. mouse wheel press: alpha strike

or

1. mouse left: PPC's (chain fire)
2. mouse right: Flamer (Easy access for emergencies)
3. mouse back: Large laser(non chain; toggle for non chain)*
4. mouse forward: Medium lasers (non chain; toggle for non chain)*
5. mouse wheel back: left or right hand
6. mouse wheel forward: left or right hand
7. mouse wheel press: alpha strike

*Swap if desired

I did mostly the first setup as I didn't like to switch chain medium lasers on and off. The second one is better/more interesting in a way but you have to turn on and off chain lasers a lot if you want to use them. Unless you find a way around that. And obviously it can all be modified.

**** I would tend to fire them independently most of the time for heat dissipation sake. I used chain fire a lot to keep heat as low as possibly in case I needed it all of a sudden(Except large lasers). Duel large lasers are low heat options and a main fireing method... Chaining Mediums is a super low fire method. Chaining PPC's is a good super weapon thing. I fire them independently with duel large lasers in between for long distance sniping. Fire PPC, duel large lasers, then ppc again. Or whatever combination works for the circumstances.. Fireing all 6 mediums is your highest heat use and highest damage and for closer large burst followed by whatever the remaining heat allows. Just look at what is higher heat for the damage and what can be fired most to keep up dps basically. Whatever fits the bill.

I, basically, ended up using chain as much as possible(except with large lasers) and then fired non chain(except PPC) whenever I was in a good position and knew I wanted burst damage. Help manage the heat nicely and lets you fire for days! I tried on the big snow map I played on, to keep away as much as possible and when I got in close burst where appropriate. Play patiently. And if you have to get closed in, use cover and a lot and patience. If you have to use the flamer thrower. It will save you in a 1v1 fight and is very good for helping reduce personal or team damage in an encounter where it is in range. don't neglect it or go in without it. It is your short range life saver!

To alpha either fire your PPCs then hit alpha. Or turn off override and fire. It will do tiny bits of damage or none depending on built up heat in the engines at 0%. Depends on your preference.

Heat/damage:

PPC: 14/10(15); 2x 28/20(30)
ERL: 10/11; 2x 20/22
MPL: 6/8; 6x 36/48
LorRhand(full): 42/45(55)
LorRhand(noPPC): 28/35<- perfect cockpit damage? or would you want the ppc?
*LPL versions
LPL: 10/13; 2x20/26
LorRhand(full): 38/48
LorRhand(noLPL): 28/35
LorRhand(noERL): 28/37<- Good for fast damage as it is all Pulse lasers.

You can also fire left and right hand without the PPC's for extra low heat if you need to peak. That is a better low swatting combo.

As you can see the MPL is the best damage and best damage to heat(The PPCless LorR hand a close second.). The left and right hand are situational but could be very good for and instant kill!

This is where I wish the game had more buttons to choose from. And I had a mouse with al ot more buttons. This build has a lot of potential versatility and I wish I could shortcut more combos...

Edit: You know, thinking about it, maybe replacing the PPC's with large pulse lasers would be better. you could get more DPS and alpha with no heat(have to test the alpha later). Just probably treat it like now with the LPL(PPC) and ERLL seperately... You just loose a little range and whatever other benefits PPC brings. But you gain lower heat more fireing time and more precision.

Here is a good KDK-5 build based on medium lasers. It has all the trimmings and plays wonderfully in battle!

U Yeller Eye!

And my new best!
