Interesting that people aren't talking about how this ends the 3053 limit.

Because it doesn't. The Bushwacker came out in 3053.

The 3053 limit ended when the Kodiak added variants outside of that range.

Does it offer anything new and interesting in terms of builds?

3 AC5s with XL engine maybe? Pretty nasty for a medium.

No it didn't (and by that logic technically the Shadowcat already broke that barrier). The chassis was designed before 3053.

Doesn't leave much room for ammo unless you drop below an XL 255 which is dangerously low.

Also it will be shaped like a Crab. One of those mechs where you want to keep your torso facing the enemy.

*sighs*

This is the one mech i told my team I would be willing to buy because I rocked MWL Solaris with it ( 3 light machine guns, a heavy medium laser, ac 10 and some srms ) ( having never bought anything bar about £10 worth of MC) and... I'm going to pass on this. I currently have so little faith in PGI that they will screw this mech up somehow, some way and spoil my memories of it.

Yeah.. I didn't do the math. I just thought maybe...

I mean 81 kph with tweak isn't terrible for a 3AC5 medium. It should be supplementing something bigger anyway.

I'd buy the Bushwhacker if I had some assurance we'd get another light soon. I am a bit of a Bushwhacker fanboy. But I simply refuse to give PGI any more money until they give me a new light 'mech to play with. It's totally ridiculous that we've had 13 'mechs added or planned to be added to this game and not a single one of them is a light. I want to buy the Bushwacker, I do, but I'm not shelling out any more cash until I get a new light 'mech.

Can somebody point this out to Tina or Russ? Give pepole some kind of assurance that we'll be getting lights at some point?

Because agreed. I'm not even some kind of light expert, mediums are really my favorite weight class. But it's an incredibly obnoxious pattern, when the whole given reason for going to single mech packs was to have more flexibility for people to pick and choose what they want, that PGI has ignored an entire class of mechs for over a year of releases. I want to buy the Bushwhacker, really I do. But...

They're reluctant to do light mechs because they either become the next ******** overpowered meta, or they become the next mist lynx.

By not releasing light mechs because they won't be as financially successful it shows that PGI is doing just fine and is definitely not in trouble.

Now, I'll have you know, the Mist Lynx is a wonderful mech that doesn't need any buffing. I mean, look at the damage and kills I got with my highest score matches in my Mist Lynx A lore build! Absolutely ridiculous!

Really? Out of all the chassis that they could have picked they chose this? I hated the Bushwacker on the first sight, just like the Cyclops, both in TT and videogames. So no money from me.

Is it because you're salty that Bushwackers helped crush Smoke Jaguar's futile efforts at the end of the war? ;)

Yes, how dare PGI not take you, of all people, into consideration. Very selfish of them.

You could do 3AC5s with XL250 and have 4 tons of ammo + whatever you get if you shave off extra armour. It's not fantastic, it's a bit too close to the danger zone.

You could do 3AC2 which may be better when ED replaces Ghost heat. But I don't know.

I just realized that there aren't a lot of canon variants anyway, so PGI is likely to just invent a bunch of variants with ECM, 9 ballistic hardpoints or whatever else they feel like.

Maybe they could be induced to release a Wasp, Stinger and Valkrie package soon. I really am having trouble buying a new medium, heavy or assault.

I prefer mediums and lights. I have the PHX mastered, the Viper almost done. Just added the hunch IIC trio half done already and have the Huntsman incoming. Add this to most of the IS mediums and shadow cats in my garage... my heavys have plenty of representation as well.

Pirahna or Incubus or locust IIc works for me as well.
