Nostalgia Warrior: Online

As long as we have Whales with Misty Eyed Nostalgia, and Rose Colored Glasses, who needs content or balance?

Wanna buy a mechpack?

If it's the Scorpion pack.
Yes. Yes i do want that mechpack.

(I'd also take a Vulcan and a Goliath, to be honest, and MAYBE a Wasp/Stinger doublepack)

that's just part of a fine tradition, started with the original unseen Marauder in TT, which can't actually walk, let alone run, in reality, either.

because stock 86 kph, wide mechs fare so well...... oh look, as Adder that's even easier to kill...

I feel like Mr. Crabs could have used a bit more movement in the actual foot. At high speeds it looks like the lower leg and foot are one piece so it's like ... waddle-waddle, I'm a crab! I expected the foot to be mostly flat. I would much rather if they kept the current overall height but scaled down the model as it used to be, just lifting up the stance and making the animations tidier.

What about now? CT/cockpit section is pretty ugly right now, though. I imagine the mid section is a very long slope.

It seems a bit taller and not as spread out as I pictured it, but I hope it looks more like this orthos than the concept art.

Camo aside, I really like how this looks. It's definitely a bit bulkier than I remember from MW3/MW4, but that goes for most of PGI's redesigns. Hitboxes are what I'm curious about.

Okay, that looks MUCH better than the orthos suggested.

I pretty much feel the exact opposite. The concept art looks squashed up, chubby, too tall, and weird. It's supposed to be squat but gangly, spread out, and at least a little sleek like the EBJ. Maybe it's just because of the odd perspective/angle.

I agree, vastly prefer what I see in the Orthos. In fact, if there are any with a missile launcher on the opposite torso, it might look pretty neat. Also, I expect the actual rigging to make the mech squat lower as they have recently done with Mad Dog and Timberwolf.

Not, objectively speaking, true. But your next line reveals your subjective basis, and by that standard, there is some truth.

But what you find "boring" others do not, necessarily. I'd take a "boring" Assasssin, Vulcan or Dervish over the Bushwacker any day of the week. And would buy twice, were it a Crusader or Charger, especially the charger with very distinctive variants.

Fair as usual, but I thought the capitalized TOO would have been enough to convey my idea. I am taking into consideration that the Charger, Crusader, Wasp, Vulcan, Dervish, Stinger, Scorpion, maybe Champion and NightStar (which I only like because not human bots kek) are vaunted mechs, but these are literally the only ones I hear anyone talk about. That's 8-10 mechs, which is not a lot, most of which are humanoid and other than visually (other than beaing nostalgia loveboats and ... being cool-looking humanoid mechs) present no really compelling build possiblities.

In the end, my point stands.

We're all jaded from no content to play our shiny mechs for. I've seen you become a very sad pupper over the years, Bishop, so I know it's a problem. I feel like I should try and use some MWO assets in Blender to build an Assassin or something, I'm sad I got bored with it since that Awesome I put together for you like 2 years ago.

I will use your mech art shamelessly and without remorse! Perhaps if we can't have the mechs we want, we can make some of our own.

Concept art seems on point. The Bushy was always an ugly duckling that seemed purpose built with little regard towards aesthetics

Yes you did, you were very drunk at the time, but a verbal contract can be binding.
