2. ECM
3. AMS
4. Use Cover
Seriously people, this has been a cyclical 'complaint' and more often than not its because the weapon actually becomes effective and useful again (sometimes its just a situation that more people start using it again as it was still in a usable state) and you all just can't seem to understand basic combat tactics (ESPECIALLY NUMBER 4) and then just complain that the weapon is broken/OP because you're not doing anything to actively defend/fight against it.
However this is kind of a joke as LRMs are simply 'okay' as they are with LRM20s being weak compared to the other 3 launchers and 5s in chain having been insanely effective and efficient to boat. You want LRMs to play well finally?
Make 'indirect and unassisted' LRMs use greater than LRM20 spread (this goes for ClanLRMS too, they need at least some for this system but possible a degree less to still compensate for their 'stream' mechanic), while 'assisted' (narc/TAG) will use LRM20 or less spread to mitigate damage for their non-LOS usage.
Then make LOS LRMs use LRM15 or slightly less than while LOS LRMs with artemis will receive the LRM10 or slightly higher/lower spread.
All spreads would be subject to balance but one of the core reasons LRM5s are so useful and LRM20s seem to waste to much ammo, while indirect LRM spam can absolutely piecemeal a team is part of this problem.
Why this matters:
-Spread: Will make larger launchers more powerful in comparison to just the 'blankets' they are not, and will help to keep LRM5s chained to be ridicuously more effective due to their far more concentrated damage.
-Cooldown: I think they're in a good place now if the above becomes used but might need adjustment if it proves to help the balance.
-Damage: Lastly, this could be a balance factor raising to 1.1 or even lowering to 0.9 damage per missile, but hopefully it wouldn't come to that and only need to be a last ditch final balancing act if the sweet spot with spread and cooldown couldn't quite reach the right feel for the weapons.
