So, Single heat sinks are kinda garbage right? Well a great way to asymmetrically balance them is , they could make the mech have a higher power draw value. Doubles would have the same value as normal, but would cool off faster, because they draw more "power" to get all the excess heat out.
Example: Numbers are not correct.
SHS: 40 Powerdraw until heat penalty, but only 10 Heat Per Second removed.
DHS :30 Powerdraw until heat penalty, but 20 Heat Per Second removed.

Ghost Power is tricky to balance as it is, having two different Ghost Power systems won't help any.
I still maintain that both the easiest and best solution would be to make all engine sinks act like TruDubs, even if you have SHS installed.
The magical deus-ex-machina engine DHS are the biggest source of SHS sucking because of gaining 10 tons of heatsinks (and a lot of critslots worth) without actually sacrificing any weight (or slots) whatsoever.

True, but by doing my balance would make the game more interesting, and actually make SHS worth it to take. SHS could be used for big BURST damage with say ppc's, vs DHS would be better for Damage over time.

Burst vs. DPS can sometimes be hard to balance, as seen by the Ghost Power PTS sessions.
Making all engine sinks into Dubs means that DHS would've have a "head start" anymore. Both of them would be the same when your mech has only 10 base sinks mounted. Only the sinks installed after that point would change things. There are currently some builds that almost work with SHS but fail because DHS just save so much damn weight with the engine sinks. This change means that a lot more builds would suddenly reach the point of having enough SHS to actually matter.

SHS, like the STD engine, are meant to be obsoleted.
That proposed change wouldn't have anyone suddenly taking singles.

If first 10 hs will be 1.0 efficiency, no matter shs or dhs they are, explained as works only for engine. It makes sense. Maybe ...
