WHY THE HELL would you even WANT an omnimech is this game EVER on IS side? The one thing IS have going for them is flexibility. Having chassis locked **** wouldnt help AT ALL in this game.

Personally, I still want the Strider and Owens. But I run lore builds so I'm the crazy mad scientist you see that usually gets killed by his own creation in every form of fiction.

Why do it yourself when you can have professionals do it quietly?

then again, quirks only go so far. The locked crap "because its lore" (bs reason in THIS game by the way) gimps the hell out of Omnis in such a way that theyre usually LESS versatile than battlemechs which is so backwards I just dont have words.

Personally, I still want mid-battle repairs instead of respawns. Give us MFBs that can repair battle damage, with omni's having a repair speed bonus or something.

Yeah but then youd have the issue of someone getting stuck inm the damn thing and being blasted to **** while trying to rearm/repair

And/or guys going "well we know the repair areas are usually around here, so if we go there, we can keep them from being able to repair at all and we win.

even different locations wouldnt really stop that

wth I hit edit not quote

I'm going to have to disagree. I always found the in-game MFBs of the previous MW games a bit too much like pit stops for Formula 1 race cars.

I prefer the method of not having limbs re-attached, and just armor/ammo refilled, with a longer repair time than in the previous games. Still, I can understand the opposite view point of not wanting it, it's just one of my pet preferences.

also the reason I said up there. All we';d have would be a race to get to the mfbs and then the fight to see if you even get to use your side's or a race to the closest, OR a stagnation when ppl try to turtle up around theirs

What happened is your BW never seemed to exist...

only if it takes your mech out of battle for at least 5 minutes to reload, and 10-15 for minor armor repair..... and of course, no damaged internals and components get repaired.

OH...and they are targetable for arty strikes that destroy them and whatever is inside, utterly. ;)

Now that is something I can agree to ... and the associated risk of being attacked while refitting/repairing. <maniacal Posted Image Posted Image Posted Image>

Know what would fit the problem with respawns? If you EJECTED when your mech died...

Then at least you have the probability of the explanation of you got picked up

Yea.. but I saw this lastnight, but was too busy with kids to be able to respond... still I wanted too.

After I read the OP I was tempted too. I'm not sure when the last time I saw so much wrong in one post, but after 2 pages of posts pointing out how wrong he was and lots of evidence why, I figure if he doesn't get it by now he never will.

With the current tech & restrictions on customization, I'd have to agree. IS Omnis would be DOA. It'd be the worst of both worlds, no sane person would want that.

With LFEs, some of the more advanced armor options, and the ability to use Clan weapons? Then they start to look a lot less bad. But that's not what we're talking about here, so yeah, total, full on, no holds barred, terribad with suckage sprinkled on top. No thanks. So glad the BSW isn't an Omni.

Makes for an amusing thread though, I almost made popcorn to watch the show.

Why in the name of Kerensky would you want those two IS omni's?!?!

They are two of the worst early IS Omni's.... locked SHS, slow...

OW-1 Prime

AC/10 ammo counts as C3 slave....

I prefer the term "immersive"........

Not my fault if people don't know how to draw out a match. But hey for those wanting their insta fixes, should we add power up drops, and extra respawn tokens, etc?

same reason I like Crossbows? Sometimes the paper stats aren't what matters.

Were the prior games mfb insta fixes? I never even hinted to that. I like the idea of it taking a while but not the length of an entire match

I'd happily run the Strider A loadout. 2 NARC beacons, a TAG laser, C3 unit, BAP, and a single small laser. I had fun running the Mist Lynx A build, this would be no different. Hell, this would have MORE equipment for me to work with!
