Mech modelers =/= mappers

Why do you people think that the people working on mechs are the same ones who work on maps? They're LITERALLY separate people. Time and time again people who apparently no null about game design weigh in on how it should be done. Do some research before complaining.

I agree more maps need to be made, possibly that they should at the very least add 1 more person to their mapping team so that we can have a viable number of new and remastered maps over a fairly decent period of time.

What would people think of using the FW worlds (not the FW maps) and create a new map based off that world.

I'd like to fight on the Vitric Forge (no the FW map) but if they made something else out of it. I think the planets they've made in FW are pretty cool.

People who do 100% drops in QP will never even know about those maps.

Can some one name the last new map? Also when was the last new map introduced? On top of that when was the last big change to the game?

Last new map? Polar Highlands

When did Polar Highlands make it into the game? Over a year ago. January 19th 2016.

When was the last big change to the game? June 2016, Mech Re-scale. Over half a year has gone bye.

Now the newest big change to the game (New Skill Tree) is being pushed back and there has been no word of any new map or even fixes for some of the other maps that truly do need it.

I don't see the point of new maps since voting took over. I only ever see four maybe five. Just realized this morning I have never seen the new modor. Yep, not once. Never mind modes.

So yeah, make new maps you will never see. We will all feel better about it.

maps. seriously maps. wtf why cant u maps?

open maps making up to the general public, let them make maps and play them in custom games.

I totally agree, especially on the old Frozen City part. It is beyond me why a great, action-loaded brawl map was re-made into a [censored] sniper map

all Mappers (one or two Peoples ????) working for the three MW5 Maps for the start 2018/19/20...coming soon...back in Days, the Mappers must working for mechlab UI or FW...now for MW5

I think I know why theyre so slow to make them. Mechs we were told cost $25k to make but they sell them and get money back. MAPS cost $250k and they dont make anything.


BUT, We play MWO because there are maps to play on! I wouldn't be playing this game if the maps were garbage. It's still in their best interest to keep producing maps. And if their cost is really $250K, I know a lot of CAD People that could develop really great maps and save them a ton of $$$. Any Model could be plugged into their for additional art rendering.

I absolutely agree with this. I'll be more inclined to spend money on mechs if I have access to more maps and game modes.

What should be the cost of a map other than working hours? The license for the engine is paid, the assets are available, the map artists who work for PGI have to be paid whether they work on a map, assets, or do nothing ... $ 250K for what ... pay for a map Artist ? For a good map you need about 8 hours daily = 4 months ... 4x5000 $ wage = 20000 $
Blizzard and Gaijin have no problems with user created maps ... the 250K simply sound after a lazy excuse

pay for what?for its own Product ? pay for Map Creators thats work as freelancer?pay for a Third Party thats created Maps for PGI? what doing the PGI Mapcreators for his Money when not created maps ? what the cost for mW5 when a simple MWO Map cost 250k?
for Maps the only cos ,the Manpower and the Time...
The license is paid and causes only one cost, whether you now create only a Map, zero or 100 maps for the game or im make a new UI or Mechlab
Personal for maps is available and has to be paid, whether they work on maps or do nothing
Assets for the maps are available or are created by the mapcreators in their working hours and cause no additional costs ...
Materialcoast =no
Hard and Software=available and in use
So what costs 250K $ ????

Thats like Ford say we have only 4 Colors for the Cars ,a new Color costs 250k (and Ford have Materialcosts for a new Color ;))

Yes please.. we need more maps. We need at least one map per year!

I do buy mech-packs and mc for stuff but I can not sustain my interest in the game if all we get is 12 maps with only 4 that are always getting picked over universally bad other choices

What i believe you're saying is the MWO mappers stopped working on MWO to work on Mechlab UI or Faction Warfare, and then MW5?

Incorrect...FW is actually true considering they were MAPS. However the Mappers don't work on UI elements, and MW5 is an entirely DIFFERENT team of people. They didn't stop working on MWO to work on MW5, they put together another team of people.

Sorry I can't beleive you on that unless you have proof, I beleive PGI is too small to have two map teams going.

Heck, if they did a little math and calculated how much it cost in person hours to get a map done, then set a time limit and announced "if we sell X hours of premium time by Date Y" they would probably get the time sold for whatever profit they built in and we'd get new maps that everyone had. Even the cheapskates they wouldn't even pitch in for one hour.

What do the map designers do for their money when they do not create maps because they costs are too expensive????

back in the Days from PGI -sorry no maps -all working by thies great new Feature UI/FW
sorry no Content and new Gamemodes-IGP is the Strawmen
sorry ,we have new Mapmakers, all working to rebuild the Old maps
Sorry no new maps , the costs to high
Sorry no new Maps -MW5

sorry PGI -other Games have better and more Maps, and Content ,and War Thunder has a Own Map/MIssion Creator for the user

PGI doesn't need to make maps.

Open up the creation tools to us and let us do it while you're busy. It worked for the past 3 MW titles. :D
