You have to unlock those modules with GXP (15000 each). Look under skills/pilot trees.

means buy it with MC? because as far as I know, I only can transform my XP into GXP by using MC, so MWO at the end is not a real F2P game anyway. duuuuuuh.

You earn GXP every match along with XP (5% of Mech XP is also GXP earned). You'll also earn GXP from events and achievements. So it comes slowly, but it comes. Use it only for unlocking modules (not mech skills) unless you want to pay to convert.

Look in the lower left of your UI where you have your CB (blue) and MC (yellow) totals and you'll also see a GXP total (orange).

You're positive you mastered it? I'm not trying to be silly and I'm sorry if this sounds like a dumb question.

But did you actually purchase with XP the mastery ability, or did you just achieve the ability to unlock the mastery by getting Elite on 3 variants?

If you spent as much time looking at the game interface as you do posting you would have figured it out a long time ago.
And yes, you are so intelligent you discovered the "end" of this F2P game that no one else has ever mentioned. Keep posting and not take one second to comprehend anyone's kind responses. 2 thumbs way up!!!

Many steps,

Unlocking Master means getting 3 chassis to elite, this unlocks the master slot box, which you need 21.5k XP to unlock that box for your extra module slot.

If you are talking about using a "locked" module, You need to use GXP to unlock that module, Weapon modules and mech modules, along with consumable upgrades all take GXP.

You can get GXP three ways.. One, play the game, you earn a small amount every match, Or you can get it as rewards for completing objectives during events.

the 3rd way costs MC, but you can convert Extra XP, (and i am not sure when you can do this, But it is some time after you unlock certain levels, Perhaps it is after you unlock master slot, i just can't recall. But at the very least, any mech you have mastered, if you have extra XP, you can use the Convert to GXP through MC to get it. I have done it in the past a few times on sales when you get a +50% bonus. But at times it is not bad to spend a little to unlock a module or something.

I personally wouldn't convert to GXP just to unlock mech skills. Also, Always Save your GXP, for those skill unlocks, not MECH. It takes a long time to earn it, and i have unfortunately screwed up a few times, and burned a few K on a mech unlock. At least it was a basic skill..

At any rate,, that is most likely why it is not unlocked... Or if your master mech module slot isn't unlocked, which happens, you just need to restart the game, and it typically shows up.

As Terciel said, after you get the slot, you have to go to "Skills", find it and spend GXP to unlock it. THEN, you have to pay for it using C-Bills.

You might not have many Mechs but someone here told of a good way to make GXP faster. It is called "First Victory" of the day (24 hours) For that, you get double the XP. So if you have other mechs, even those you have done their pilot trees etc, play them every day until you get a win.

Can you do a screen shot of your skill tree?

Feeding the troll?

To actually obtain the modules, it is two steps.

Skill > Pilot
use Vision option to narrow down the choices to locate Advanced Zoom. You have the module but you need to purchase the ABILITY to use it with GXP. There are different levels for each module and to max it out the need to purchase each level.

That will allow you to load up the module in the mech or mech/weapon module. Just remember, to use Advanced Zoom in 3 mechs, you will need to purchase with C-bills in the mech lab any additional AZ modules OR, after finishing with the one mech using it, REMOVE it from that mech, save then load up the other mech, select it in the module screen of the mechbay and save.

took me a couple days before I figured out I actually had to purchase the skill, to use the Modules

it was actually by chance I found it without needing to ask.

when I spent most of my time in Trail mechs, I could never add skill, kinda was thinking it might just be something that will open up to me later (well kinda does in a sense) heck, my first 3 mechs I bought, I never added any skill, not till much later, and I had sold them back by the time I had realized what needed to be done
.
I had found the skill tree, just took me longer to figure what I needed, Owned mechs.

Now if I can just stop unintentionally spending GXP, I can get the skills bought Posted Image

yeah its still needs MC.....real money.......so.....is it done? all of this debate?

so the sequence should be like this:

1. have 3 mechs of the same variant
2. unlocked the skills until reached master
3. buy MC with real money to convert your XP into GXP
4. done.

You don't have to spend money to convert XP to GXP unless you want to speed up the grind. You will earn enough over time to unlock the modules.

Every match you earn both XP and GXP.

You earn a lot of XP and a little GXP.

Paying real money to convert XP into GXP is generally considered one of the worst ways to spend real cash in this game.

Better buy Premium Time instead. You get much more bang for your buck.

The module system is quite convoluted, and I wouldn't blame a newbie for being confused. For example, when I started, it wasn't clear to me that using GXP to take a Lvl-1 weapon module to Lvl-2 would also affect an already-bought module.

Yeah, in short:

- Level up a 'mech to unlock the last module slot. All other module slots are available from the start.
- Unlock a module with GXP. You accumulate GXP through normal gameplay, at a rate of 1 GXP for each 20 XP.
- After unlocking a module, buy the module with c-bills.
- Equip the module you just bought.

Do NOT pay MC for XP-->GXP conversion unless you're sure you want to do that. If you play a decent amount, you accumulate enough GXP for the modules you need. The process of mastering three variants of your 'mech takes about 170,000 XP, which means you accumulate around 8000-9000 GXP at the normal rate. This is enough to unlock two level-5 weapon modules, with some GXP left over. You'll get some extra GXP from event prizes and supply caches.

IMO the only good use for converted GXP is to bypass the "level three variants" requirement and flat-out GXP "the bad variant" to avoid playing it. I've done this a few times.

As far as P2W, MWO is not. MWO differs from World of Warships (and I think also World of Tanks) in that even the MC-bought consumables aren't better. They're better than the base c-bill consumable. But you can can unlock consumable skills with GXP (which, again, doesn't require real money), and that skill unlock makes the c-bill consumable work the same as the MC consumable. In WOWS the real-money consumable is always better, and it's under-appreciated that MWO manages to avoid stuff like this. Basically all you get for money in this game is early-access and aesthetic bling-bling, yet the game manages to stay afloat, which is amidrable.

here is a quick breakdown of how the Module system works

in the Pilot section of Skills you use GXP to unlock the module

you then put the module on a Mech, if you do not already own the module you must purchase it with Cbills, if it is not unlocked you cannot purchase it, if you want a module on multiple Mechs you can ether purchase multiple coppies or keep moving it from 1 Mech to the next

some modules have levels or upgrades, if you purchase a module then later unlock an upgrade for or higher level of the module any of that module you own will automatically be upgraded

with regards to the Master Module slot, that is purchased with Mech XP and costs 21500 XP, before purchasing the module shows as locked in the Mechlab module view
