Go Tell Russ What You Want The Next Is Mech To Be!

"Clan Mech" with 6 torso ballistic hardpoints, 8 torso energy hard points and 4 arm hardpoints, and 6 torso missile hardpoints. All hard points are shoulder height. Weight is whatever you want.
IS version is dubbed "IS Mech". It is identical to "Clan Mech" but with structure buffs to account for the IS XL engine weakness.
I mean now that factions are effectively to be removed and what little lore this game had will be eliminated, and since e-sports...and that means only running the meta...is the future of the game; why not just cut to the chase and make the ultimate generic meta mechs the only mechs, since that will be all that is played by the remaining comp folks anyway?
In order to keep making money, PGI can do what the cell phone companies in the US are now doing...you don't buy the mech, you rent it per month, or maybe per match.
Time to stop mucking around PGI. You've created a situation ripe for the introduction of the new standard in lore free, meta play, may as well embrace it.

Well that was about 300% my daily dose of sodium today. I'll be right back while I call 911 since the left side of my face is numb and drooping.

Which is why you only permit mixed tech with IS omnis, and no other unit. You also do not give them major quirks. Seeing as how the clans have their IIC mechs, it's only logical that the IS will get their omnimechs. As for tech, I'd be content to have late clan invasion/civil war tech.

IIC's are NOT mixed tech so i dont know how this supports your argument. They are also in timeline for the most part.
How does Clans having IIC's support you IS needing IS Omnis with mixed tech (the best of both worlds) while clans still dont get to do such things. What I would give for a PPFLD Ac20 on some mechs.

But really. Rather than nickle and diming us, how much would we directly pay for better/deeper content, actual progress and more maps and game modes?
I'd rather pay directly into that knowing it will go there than just keep this stalling pay model going.
It was called the founders package.
Follow up:
The only way i think will get lights at this point is If we challenge him with an urban Mech-esc proclamation: give us a sketch, if we buy enough, they make it. If not, refunds and no Mech. And probably no light ever if demand is not enough now, at a time when people still care enough too cry for a light.

The idea I had was PGI could release an extra variant or two for light mechs.

This. Both more maps and the part about the mixed tech.

I never said they were mixed tech, They are however, fully customizable with the exception of hard points. At present, clans are the only faction who can customize their hardpoints for specific roles, which is the advantage of Omnimechs.
As for why IS omnis should be allowed mixed tech, first it is Canon, as the Inner Sphere's omnimechs were originally derived from clan tech to begin with, it is logical that they would be compatible with the technology they were derived from. Second, virtually ALL the 1st gen IS Omnis, an many later ones use XL engines. (remember, there are no light engines in this time period, even though the only Omnis I know of that use the tech are the Malak and Deva.) No one's going to be willing to pilot a Sunder if it can be destroyed by losing a side torso if you do not give some kind of incentive as a tradeoff for the increased vulnerability. Finally, the decision to avoid mixed tech limits what mech variants PGI can offer, as there are quite a few canon mechs with mixed tech, such as the clan variants of the Atlas, Marauder, Thunderbolt, the R configurations of EVERY gen 1 IS Omni, and would allow more options for potential hero mechs, Like Shelly Brubaker's Nightstar, which uses clan tech weapons, or Archer Christofori's Penetrator, which replaced the ER Llasers with their clan versions.

Except the omnipod system in MWO doesnt even make sense form a lore pov. I get why its been done though. If IS omnis ever get introduced they should be restricted to IS tech only (and with all the lore drawbacks PGI implemented for clan omnis) as defined per lore. Which means IS XL (fixed), IS single HS (fixed) and so on.

I'm completely fine with IS omnis being restricted to IS tech and all the same limitations that Clan Omnis get. I think the ones I listed are worth bringing to MWO even under those terms. The only ones that aren't worth it are the Strider and the Owens, which would be garbage even if they were Battlemechs.
