Me myself with my Mauler MX-90, and 6 ac2 with you know.........123123123123123 kinda stuff
and one time I come into a battlefield with a 12- 0 win, and one time on domination on snow mountain all I had to do is dakka dakka - ing them faaar away one by one and the fight is as easy as a pie....well....peanut pie. So I kinda wondering, is this battle really kinda one sided? I mean I can do this all day y'know....constantly having 500 plus damage.....and it feels goooooood.....

Yeah, not so much. Good players will laugh at your AC/2 build and wreck you with precision firing while you spray.

Why not just run 5x ac5 instead?

This is easy enough to test out. You'll be tier 1 in no time if your Dakk Maul is so OP.

But right now, are you in tier 5 bragging about how this game has no challenge?

The early levels are always the easiest. Enemies get tougher at higher tiers, you'll start to meet them in a few weeks if you consistently get 500+ damage and play often.

Hey now, it wasn't too long ago I was pulling down 900+ in a Yen Lo regularly. Give him a break. That mech will last him a while, probably through the end of tier 3. Then the fun begins and he has to learn new habits. With a wicked hard learning curve at the end. I recommend mixed loadouts (AC + Las or guass +las or SRM + las) until you get the real feel for it. When you start pulling in near grand in a medium with those, that is when the real fun begins. But enjoy it while it lasts and Welcome to MWO! The "thinking man's" "best esport ever"! (There may be some sarcasm there at the end.)

It's true.

Now... 2 ac/2 and 2 ac/5 and now we're talking something fierce.

6xAC/2 vs. 5xAC/5 ... well, to paraphrase Spinal Tap, "it's one more, isn't it?".

AC/2 spam is hilarious, and I highly recommend doing it. In a suitable place, in the depths of the pug queue. I wouldn't confuse it to be an optimal play style. Posted Image

Yeah, there are actually people in the game, that consider that amount of damage sub-par in a 1LPL-Locust. But he will meet them soon enough, as others have pointed out. I am most unhappy, everytime I do so. Posted Image

personally in tier 2 I got no problems using my 6 AC 2 mauler, it's basically a slightly less damaging gauss rifle every second or so.

500 damage in a dakka assault build is average at best and that's not even a good build so I can only come to the conclusion that you were fighting bad players.

Hard times will be coming soon enough, so be fully prepared for it and don't give up.

Indeed. I consider 500 in solo queue only ok in any mech. But I really wasn't trying to be mean, just to point out that it's a style of play (one of several) that will dominate bad players in pubs and then fail miserably against anyone competent.

I routinely pull 1k dmg in t2, but it's with a kdk-3, and it's with 4 gauss rifles.

The problem with ac/2s is that to maintain full dps, you need to have a lot of time on target which means you're not armor rolling, and they have to be really exposed.

Alpine is the absolute best case map for an ac2 build. long range, lots of open ground. Smart players won't sit there and let you shoot them constantly. They'll just hide and close with cover. On other maps, they'll be able to get within range and return a 60 damage alpha in return for your 2-3 salvos hitting 12-24 damage at best, while spread out.

Nightshade, a very hot and heavy gauss rifle.

@op I really do recommend trying the 6 ac5 just for the lols. Almost anything except lights pop into view at 700m and they're gonna regret it. Horrendously horrible for FW unless defending but so much fun in QP

Hey, 500dmg is A LOT of face time for AC2s.
OP must be brave.

I see no bragging, if he is new to game he is wondering if it's really so easy to do so much damage.
