Speaking of River City, anyone else have extreme tearing and pop-in/out on walls and buildings on that map? Half the time I'm there it feels like I'm in a barely-powered holodeck.

I thought they finally clamped down on making user.cfg edits 100% bannable? Could be wrong though, since I never really messed with that can of worms.

No it isn't, as long as you're just messing with existing settings and not purposefully removing stuff you shouldn't be (like textures).

'Aight, appreciate the info. So the stupid laser modification is still possible? The one that turns all lasers into TAGs basically?

I ended up with a mix of high and low settings and managed to get the game to show the smoke trails from the missiles and the larger PPC effect along with all the nice particle effects and explosions without it impacting my frame rate too much.
Will obviously depend on the video card you have etc but it's worth testing out a few different combinations of the settings to see how you go.

Guys, I don't know why pgi likes the fog so much?!?!?!
I like to see!
It is possible to remove from user.cgf or with some setting in my video card?

Night vision and heat vision must look different at higher resolutions. On my screen everything becomes very blurry and difficult to see. And, you can't see at longer ranges (I forget what the cut off is, but I know I get shot by erll from "empty" spots on my screen). I do adjust the gamma at the beginning of the match and that seems to help.
