Completely disagree.

I've never been a PGI hater or a White Knight but I'm too jaded anymore to really care what PGI has to say.

Find that PC gamer article from way back when and pine over what could have been. We were supposed to own planets, wage wars, have a stake in the universe. Even at the launch party, their slideshow for faction warfare, how much of that is even in the game at this point, years later?

I guess overall it just makes me sad. This game could be so much more. Battletech and Mechwarrior have so much more to offer than what we are playing now.

Sorry to hear about your internet problems Jedi, hope your connected in the shortest time

I'd hunt around for a Phoenix Pack receipt because if my memory is correct, you couldn't get the sabre pack ( Griffin, and Wolverine ) unless you had shelled out for the pack of four

Since up coming circumstances are going to result in my loss of internet access for the next few months and possibly most of next year I decided to make hard copies of my digital receipts.I won't have a connection or pc capable of running mwo. I still plan to make an occasional topic or post until I can get back to playing the game from the local library.

While going through my data I found all my mwo related ones and decided to make a time line of when I bought mechs excluding the times I did the rare mc purchase.

This is purely for the entertainment of doing it while showing you that not all people with mech package tags are the big spenders some people might think they are. I've bought MC three times all at the lowest amount which is about $10 when I add in transaction fees.

Do you remember when you first got into the game? What got you to play? I never knew about the tt game, read any of the books, or any of the earlier BT games except for the pos sega genesis game. It wasn't until I saw the Founder Catapult Trailer then I got into Mechwarrior Online. I loved the Cat and used it almost exclusively through CB. The C1 remains my top mech and the one I use the most.

6/19/12 First email confirmation of Founder's Legendary.

7/25/12 Confirmed for Closed Beta.

7/25/13 Sarah's Jenner.

9/06/13 Saber Reinforcements (Phoenix Pack Minus Battle Master?)

2/17/14 Timber Wolf Al La Carte

10/22/14 Fire Mech Pack (Panthers Pack I think)

7/31/15 Jenner 2C (Clans Version with clan Oxide)

10/19/15 Gift Code to brother for Wolf Hound (2R?)

However, founders who still are disgruntled because they didn't get what was sold to them are idiots beyond rescue. We got all we paid for, and we got more than that. People like to forget that we got nearly a year of free premium time because PGI didn't get that working right or whatever. And everything else was delivered.

YMMV, but I was among other reasons sold on the 4 pillars.

Feel free to have a look again at those and tell us that we "got everything we paid for". Sure, one could argue that we got all the goods sold in the founders packages. That's why we don't want our money back (in fact I really don't regret buying the founder pack, it was a great time in Closed Beta before PGI ruined the game). But people complain how PGi promised us a totally different game back then.

Quote

Mech Warfare:

We want to make sure we bring the roots of the MechWarrior® titles back to the surface and also incorporate the basic rules from the BattleTech® Universe. Players will be able to customize their BattleMechs with weapon and armor upgrades as well as customize their cosmetic appearance in the MechLab. This means players can look unique or fall in line with their Merc Corp colors and truly represent themselves in combat. The next part of Mech Warfare is controls/piloting a BattleMech. Since our key platform is the PC, it only makes sense to really bring the simulation control system back for seasoned players, with the option to have easy access configurations for newer players. When dealing with controls, we really want to bring skill back into combat rather than heavily assisted combat as seen in most modern day first person shooters. The interface between the MechWarrior® and the BattleMech is being revisited as well. A new 3D HUD system is being designed for the neurohelmet pilot information display. The view point of the game is from the pilot (MechWarrior®’s) point of view. Players will be able to look around their cockpit and even customize the interior to suit their tastes.
Role Warfare:

When it comes down to play style for any given player, we want to make sure that we have as many options as possible to cater to as many player types as possible. This is where things get really interesting. Everything from choosing a BattleMech to how a MechWarrior® is trained, will allow a player to truly customize their own personal game experience. What is a player’s preferred role when playing MechWarrior®? Scout? Attacker? Defender? Commander? Whatever it is, a player will be able to train their MechWarrior to specialize in their style of gameplay. Players are highly encouraged to participate in team based gameplay. The fast manoeuvrable scouts will be able to relay information back to the commander units who in turn relay that information to the attacker and defender units. As players advance their MechWarrior in a role, more skills and abilities related to their role will become available. Remember, a team who plays together will always win together.
Community Warfare:

MechWarrior® in all of its incarnations has always had a loyal following of players in one of the strongest on-line communities in gaming history. Piranha-Games hopes to bring this community together in a friendly conflict of universal control. This may sound a little odd, but it is the fun competitiveness that will keep the game alive and kicking for years to come. Utilizing the BattleTech® Inner Sphere, we plan to have skirmishes amongst the Great Houses in BattleTech® lore. Allowing the player to have an active part in this conflict is one of our key directives in designing this game. Players will be able to create, manage and customize their Merc Corp’s player base and appearance, while banding together to really delve into the Inner Sphere conflict where House alignment reigns supreme. Merc Corp leaders will bid and fight for occupation rights to some of the most valuable planets across the Inner Sphere and challenge other Merc Corps for control of planets reaping large rewards.
Information Warfare:

Evolving the MechWarrior® experience required a new layer of gameplay. Instead of large open expanses and circle strafing parties, we wanted to examine the core play experience of the previous MechWarrior® titles and see if we could bring a more tactical/strategic experience to MechWarrior® Online™. Relying more on line-of-sight and incorporating information technologies, we feel that information warfare will bring a new level of realism to the fight and help enforce the idea of team based multiplayer even more. Another aspect of Mech Warfare, something that we can do with new technology, is urban combat. The battlefield is no longer open areas with mile long sightlines. . Tactical manoeuvres will be required now more than ever and the key to success is using InfoTech alongside great team play. The newly implemented Battle Grid will give commanding units a bird’s eye view of the battlefield and scouts will be able to feed real time recon information to them. The battlefield commander will be able to call in air strikes, artillery strikes and other support unit requests.

I have all four of my Founder's Mechs. I don't think you can sell them back, but have never tried. I don't recall the last time any of them have seen the electronic battlefield. It was probably the Catapult, when ever that was. Mech ability inflation left the Founder's machines behind.

Well it depend when you did still play streakcats.
Streakcats were REALLY easy mode when, like i did said, it wasn't any ecm mechs in the game 10K/D easy... JJs were really fast and strong at this moment more than with victor poptarting age well it was closed beta ^^ TTK was really high XL engines were so rare...

After they were just outdated by many differents metas, first begin with ECM release ( 6 months after lol ) then we had splatcats boomcats and many others .
When you were still playing streakcat? Long time after closed beta... Posted Image?

Me i did keep playing it and get nice results even after ECM release just had to focus ECM ravens between 180meters and 200 meters then keep playing easy mode agaisnt others non-ecm mechs. But streakcats were dying more and more with each ecm mechs release.
Then i did go to splatcats, boomcats ( srms nerf hammer ) and played it till clans mechs were release ( i had still only 4 mechbays at this moment xD also was playing only catapults too lazy for master others mechs like jagermechs/cataphracts or stalkers/victors ).

Got wind of MWO in development but was too late to join the kickstarter.
Pick up a founder when it was available.

Coming from online game publishing background, I never expect the game to be deliver 100% as promised. From experience, the pitched game and delivered product is usually not identical. (I sat thru Ragnarok Online 2, and Cabal Online 2, plus several project's development)
But the core mechanics of combat, and mech customization is good, so I put my money in the game.
Information Warfare and Factions pillars are nice to have, but not a deal breaker for me.

I started to play the Streak Cat from March of 2013, when ECM Ravens were untouchable cheats due to borked hit-reg. Never had the "easy mode" time period. Then the Victors and Highlanders got released and Streakboats simply died out. But I never gave up on the guy. I continued to play it until PGI killed the SSRM2, with bone targetting.

This is one of my earliest videos.

I have actually always been aware of this since I started reading on the forums. That's part of the reason why Founder entitlement has always rubbed me the wrong way. That, and the fact that I am extremely jealous of anyone who owns the Founder Catapult. (Seriously! F***. You. You don't love the CPLT-C1(F) like I do. You don't deserve her.)

But there are plenty of people who have spent twice, thrice, ten times or even more than ten times as much as a lot of the angry Founders who talk about how we wouldn't be here if it weren't for them or how PGI betrayed them and how they wish person X at PGI would die in a tractor accident. Why? Because they plunked down 40 bucks for a Founder package in 2011 and then PGI implemented 3PV. As if that means Russ should be on his hands and knees thanking them and begging their forgiveness forever.

And on top of their blinding rage / haughty demeanour towards PGI, there's also the Founder Snowflakism. "Nobody shall share my Founder mech geometry! You cannot put a price on what I have sacrificed to become a Founder! Never was so much owed by so many to so few!"

Come at me Founder bros.

Spoiler

So I have a Catapult with this weird designation, like Champions and Heroes have, but it's an 'F'? Guess it isnt a big deal since I never use it - Thing is garbage.

While i came after the bigger fiasco and didnt agree with most of what the islanders had to say and most likely put as much if not more cash into the game that they did... The Founders plunked over 5millions in "kickstarter", im sorry this game wasnt kickstarted, i mean in " crowd funding" oh im sorry again as we were told once this game wasnt funded by the community... so aside from all the millions that the founders injected to make this happen they can all go fk themselves.

Also, dont "tongue in cheek" me mister, someone could read your story and take it as cash.

I'd never try and sell my founders mech. I use to play them a lot until recently. They are still good mechs. i'm planing on getting the last two cats I don't have up to 400,000 xp which means I need to pilot my Jester a lot more when i can get back to the game and get the BB hero cat. http://i.imgur.com/TOCx3mR.png

Streakboats and ECM Ravens didn't disappear because of poptarts. They disappeared because PGI eventually nerfed and removed splash damage. Whereas ECM Ravens and Streakboats could once take down assault mechs by doing ~4 damage to multiple components for every equipped SSRM2, they now did 4 damage to a single random component instead. Their DPS was reduced to about a third of what it had been.

As long as Streaks did splash damage to multiple components, Streakboats were easy-mode. When PGI changed that, they were no longer easy-mode, but some people with bad aim kept using them regardless, because it was easier to constantly do a little damage with auto-hitting streaks than no damage with SRMs that required aim.

ECM Ravens never disappeared. They only faded once hit-reg became better and PGI increased Raven's leg hit-boxes. Streakcats were basically extinct during poptart heyday. I dropped with my A1 in hundreds of matches after Victor and Highlanders were released, and almost all the time I was the sole Streakcat. In fact, players commented on how rare it is to see one in game, once they saw my loadout.
