I queued for most of an hour


Got nothing


Played in a few private matches with a friend instead.

How did it feel? Testing ground seems pretty lame from what I could tell.


On another note, does anyone want to do a couple private matches?

Judging by the queue counters we are actually 2 players away from a 4v4 public match! So if ya queue up might get a quick match.

I've had a cumulative 2 1/2 hours on the PTS today trying to get a match. So far, only 1 match.

We mainly lulzed about


300 damage potential on a Kodiak SPL boat, 130 ERML boat, and a 3LPL WubShee can pump out 300 damage (a full minute) of constant LOLpha...of that pitiful 30 damage alpha (the new SHS, lots of those)



Though, while the SHS are more than marginally better, they do cost you a lot (in tonnage, crit slots and firepower)

I'm not sure what there is to test, it's mostly more nerfs to things I felt did not need to be nerfed that I've already tested and given feedback on.

Was not able to get any games myself. Played around in testing grounds a bit. Everything is way to hot. 14 double heat sinks still doesn't let me fall back to 2xUAC5 fire on a mixed range/weapon mauler.

The nerf to engine heatsinks went way to far.

Well, we're moving from "mixed weapons" (anything that generates heat) to "just dakka" all in one PTS.

By PGI standards, success!

I don't get it. Why even dangle the carrot of reduced capacity when dissipation sux. PTS3 looked ok to me. This is garbage. Would love to test reduced capacity with true doubled.

PTS3 was better, but lasers were too nerfed, and cERPPCs were too strong. If anything lasers should have had their damage restored but draw values kept where they were.

Since they're using heat to penalize high alphas. I would imagine lasers would feel it most.

If you can't generate a higher alpha than PPFLD weapons with lasers, then the clear choice will usually be PPFLD weapons.

We've already seen that reality in this game when lasers were considered 2nd class noob weapons.
