Absolutely! Just played a few rounds. It sucks. If you change just one omnipod, the weaponquirks are gone. So cmon, i know it can carry a huge amount of weapons, but just because it is slow. Also it is as large as an assault mech.

I wish they hadn't come up with these set of eight quirking... all the good ballistic quirks ended up on mechs with ONE ballistic hardpoint...energy quirks with 2 hardpoints, etc...

the night gyr definitely needs some mobility quirks like (de-)accelaration and increased torso turn-rate.

Yep. And Dire Wolf too. Oh, and a Timber Wolf and Storm Crow need to have their additional weapon module slot back. Oh, and many many many other mechs need a lot of stuff. But, who cares. Posted Image

have you actually played the night gyr before you've posted this non-sense?

This isn't non-sense. I've played some mechs that definitely have some unfair (assuming quirks) handicaps that no one cares to fix.

For example - Orion IIC has dynamic Ferro and Endo, full compliment of weapon module slots, and also some structural quirks? Is it fair in your opinion?

Ok lets talk especially about Night Gyr. It has clan Ferro and Endo, frack load of hardpoints and huge amount of free weight. Then it's lets say "thermally neutral". And it isn't the slowest mech in the game. And now you want it to move even faster?

What about diversity? I really think that you just want some OP mech, aren't you?

About Orion IIC I forgot to compare it to Timber Wolf which has the same weight.

Diversity was thrown out when Energy Draw was announced.

Nice one! Posted Image (But I think it was thrown out even much more earlier.)

Well, DUH. They do that for a reason. A Mech with 1 ballistic hardpoint can't do much with ballistics, so they give it strong ballistic quirks to make the hardpoint worth using. A Mech with 4 ballistic hardpoints won't have difficulty using ballistics well since they will have multiple weapons with overlapping trajectories/firing solutions... so it won't really need ballistic quirks to use ballistic weapons well. They didn't give the Night Gyr the kinds of quirks to make it a god machine, like some want.

I don't like those arms on night gyr, too short compared to rest of the mech, looks pretty strange like this.

frankly, it sucks Posted Image , too slow , not enough potential weapon , especially with Quirck 8/8 OMG! we can not even put a gauss in Torso LT or RT Posted Image .no lower arm actuator with only 2 energy wtf Posted Image . 75t so not much resistant , Twist speed too slow Posted Image . Even my atlas is much more agile Posted Image . Cockpit is basic and sloppy.

thanks Pgi for this crap mechs .

The D variant gets the lower arm actuators so you can swing your missiles outwards more.

dropped in my NTGs and then did a FP drop for giggles with Timbers and an ebon... Amazing how much agility you miss with dat 300XL on the NTG...

I am not a fan of the set of eight quirk system. On the vipers it wasn't so bad since they're tonnage limited and all the side torso pods had agility quirks of their own, to stack with the CT quirks. With the Night Gyrs... we have no such thing, and the limited weapon quirks are largely useless to be restricted in such a fashion.

Mech works fine, the fixed slots suck. It is impossible to put an LBX 20 on this thing. Kinda silly to restrict us like that.

I know this is nothing much to do with the mech, but the environmental heat quirk was introduced because the Night Gyr ran laser heatsinks. Functionally no different from double heatsinks, though they prevented environmental heat changes (i.e. no longer more efficient in cold + less efficient in heat). Laser heatsinks also prevented ammo cookoff from getting too hot. My question here is does ammo cookoff in MWO if you go over the heat limit and override? If it does, does the Night Gyr have immunity to this?

Mechwarrior is obviously not a place a person should expect to find realistic/scientific engineering explanations for the how battlemechs work, but those rotating cylinders inside of the Night Gyr cockpit break my suspension of disbelief in ways the goofy nonfunctional readouts in other mechs do not. Those things would mangle a mechwarrior the very first time they got jostled around in the cockpit. Unless they are connected to a grain-mill and my mech secretly has a mash tun and other brewing apparatuses hidden in the center torso and we just gotta know the mash-in is going smoothly, I cannot imagine any reason to have designed such a dangerous thing to sit next to the face of the operator.

I so far love the mech in every other way.

It was obviously deliberate.

One of the major problems with quirks is how quirks and boating interact.

You can give a really strong PPC quirk to a mech with just one energy hardpoint without fear, but give it to a mech with 5 and things go sideways fast.

Remember the ERPPC Thunderbolt?

The quirks are set up like they are for a reason.

There is no ammo cook off in MWO.

Welcome to Omnimechs, the least customizable mechs.

"even my Atlas"; have you actually looked at the Atlas's quirks? You want an "even my..." Mech to complain about agility, try a Direwolf.

The Atlas is actually a reasonably agile mech.

Where have I actually mentioned that I want the Gyr to move faster?
So just to clarify it for you: I dont want that the Gyr moves faster. I want that the Gyr (de-)accelerates faster. That's a big difference...

For my sake I would also forego on generally all of the quirks that all night gyrs have. O wait... if I swap omnipods my quirks are almost all gone.... that's also funny...
