Man, back last year, when the Marauder was announced, people got all cray cray, posted posts up on every single detail.

OH!!! BADGES!!! The official reveal page was like 7 pages long within the first few hours.

A picture!

Yet here we are, a year later, with the most "requested" Clan Omni since the Timber Wolf......and.... *crickets*

There's a reveal, there's badges..... and barely 2 pages on the reveal page, and... well.. crickets.

C'mon folks, are your Jimmies not Rustled? It's a new Mech Pack about to arrive!

I'm trying to figure out why the Night Gyr has a sickle badge. Is it because the Clanners who built it are commies? If that's the case though, every Clan mech should have that badge...

Something like a crescent moon would have been more fitting, as a symbol of the "night."

I'm too poor to get hyped for it. I don't have the cash to buy it, so I'm trying to ignore it until I can own it. Otherwise I'll go insane.

Marauder was an unseen. The conclusion of some 20 years (whatever) of legal wrangling and the realization of what most lore nerds and TT enthusiasts wanted in to see in a Mechwarrior video game.

The Night Gyr is just another clan mech, and one that is not a Kodiak.

There is that distinction plus the fact that when the Marauder dropped (edit) was announced CW was still a thing that people played and were excited about. A new mech, meant exciting new possibilities, new plans, new ways to play. Now? A new mech, IS or Clan, its just another skin to use in QP.

Ironically, all the Clan mechs that I still find fascinating are Battlemechs, not omni-mechs. Piranha, Blood Kite, Bane...

Yoinked from Reddit:

A Falx is a curved sickle blade, as well as a descendant of the Latin origin of Falcon, "falconem" referring to the shape of the Falcon's talons. So actually, it's a bit of wordplay. Bravo, whoever the **** you are at PGI.

I'm just glad they're finally including a full fledged faction warfare system, community made maps, community made mods, new game modes, converging fire, PVE, a new assault mode, a customized joystick, optimized graphics, and a single player campaign.

It's not the mech I or a lot of my friends asked for. So of course I'm not entertained. I haven't been for 2 years now.

MWO has solid gameplay... and that's it

Game modes = Stale
Mechs = None that I want or have wanted for a long time (Look amazing though good job Alex And art teams)
Maps = Getting better looking but all play poorly due to "center of attractions" habbit.

No PVE
Poor performance and lack of optimizations is depressing
No story or attempts at putting lore into the game
No announcement on MWO's next big direction since Dec 2015

TL;DR Since I have yet to get anything out of MWO I've wanted since closed beta my apathy for MWO is growing at an exponential rate.

yeah the Badge reminded me of the flag of Turkey.

However, the motif is a Sickle to embody the talon of the GYR bird of prey.
The Star is to represent the night Sky.

The title "the Nocturna"l is pretty self-explanatory and the designer went with an Eclipse motif to better emphasize the power of the mech.

Some Legends say if you see a player with the "The Nocturnal" title and Collectors Badge in your game you are going to die 7 minutes later.

yeah, felt like a stretch to me, but hey, artistic license and all.

But, seriously? While I will deeply enjoy a true ballistics heavy, I am a medium jock at heart. Which is odd, because I could not stand IS mediums, except the HBK-4SP very specifically. I am finding myself way more interested in next month's release, instead.
