Hello fellow mechwarriors!

I recently acquired the Executioner C from the Faction Play event.

I'm not really sure how to play it effectively yet though.

My first build I switched out the right torso for the exe-d omnipod and switched out the left arm for the exe-a omnipod.

I had a c-uac 20 and 5 c-ermlasers with 21 heatsinks. It felt a bit too toasty when I tried it out though.

I was wondering what other people are running on their Executioners?

Start with a standard laser vomit for it. 2 LRG PLS and 4-5 ER Med. With the mobility it has, the Executioner plays more like a heavy or supporting role assault. Get comfortable using the MASC, it is the key to enjoying the Executioner.

Drop the erml for spl's.

If you aren't using masc, you're doing it wrong.

Exe is my favourite with the uac20/spl build. Works well with mediums in support. You can keep up with masc, and soak. The alpha breaks things. Still hot but not as hot as erml.

You can also use masc to get behind other assaults.

That is the best use I have found for the EXE.

c-SPL - you have made me silent in shame, I share the same forum as you lot...
why, why would you mount c-SPL onto an assault mech?

instead of SPL you can mount ERSL and bring a UAC20 to war

or 2 LPL if you swing that way...

I've been playing a bit of a frankenbuild on it, and having a lot of success.

Brace yourselves, it's not pretty, but it's effective.

C-ER PPC
C-UAC 20 (3.5t ammo)
C-ERML x2

Not a sniper or a brawler, something in between. Lots of corner peeking at all ranges, taking advantage of that sexy MASC. Good-ish alpha for when you really need to kill something right away, and not too hot. Just enough ammo to last the average round.

It may not seem like much, hell it may even seem crazy or stupid, but it's been working pretty phenomenally for me. Pretty much guarantees my assault KMDD every day of Mechtoberfest.

I have been loving 6ERML+ UAC10.. double tap away, and once hot, just hold off on the lasers, and get back to cover while laying down double taps.. I just love it! I was playing a sniper EXE before, i just am not that great of a sniper guy,, but this build i have been really doing damage.

I know this comment is a little late, but...

I also won the EXE-C from the event, and I must say I have been enjoying it. As a predominantly medium mech pilot, I've been finding the EXE to fit my typical play style nicely.

However, finding a build that worked well for it took me a few tries. Eventually I settled down on a two ERLL (in the torso) and two UAC5s. I utilize the ERLLs in those high mounts while poking around, and the UAC5s are useful in a brawl as well as if I do some jump attacks.

The trick with the EXE, no matter it's builds, it to use it's movement abilities. If you aren't using MASC to quickly speed from cover to cover, or the JJs to get on top of stuff, redirect damage to your legs or jump shoot a little, the mech probably wont work well for it. It's got very restrictive pod space for it's tonnage, so you've got to consider what you want the mech to do before you go into it.

The EXE is a fine mech and is very agile*. If you are willing to work with it and utilize it's mobility to the max, it will serve you well. If you are looking to treat it like any other assault, it will probably perform poorly for you.

* When I talk about Agility, this doesn't mean speed. Agility/mobility is related to how it moves, and not how fast it moves. The EXE is an agile mech, quick to rotate and turn. It's relatively fast when MASC is engaged, but still rather slow when it isn't. This is compared to the Battlemaster, which I found could be fast, but wasn't very "agile". It also doesn't have the mobility factors, which is where the JJs come in for the EXE.

Do not get me wrong. The Battlemaster is a fine mech, but I found it difficult to use. It could be fast, but wasn't agile. It could move at 80 KPH, but it couldn't start nor stop very quickly. Neither could it turn as fast as I needed/wanted it to. So, it's fast, but it isn't agile (in my opinion). (I'll also grant, this was some time ago, so they may have adjusted the Battlemaster's agility since I last used it.)

Ultimately, I found with the EXE, it was either snipe with the high torso mounts, or brawl with the arm mounts. This lead to several PPC builds from me (which I didn't like), as well as LPLs and SLs (Pulse or ER). I settled on the ERLL and UAC5 build above due to it's flexibility in use, as well as capability to still do decent in a brawl. I utilize my EXE as a shield for my allies. It's still a 95 ton mech, and is hard to ignore.
