Oh yay!
Possibly the best 'all-rounder' mech ever and often a bit unloved because it's middle-of-the-road in all regards; medium weight-class, good mix of weapons across the variants and able to handle larger and smaller mechs in the right hands. I still want to pilot an Atlas, though. :-P

I have the Centurion, and it truly is well balanced!
But I like haveing a good punch at close range so I substitued the AC 10 for the LB 5-X AC, which is more like a shotgun round (or at least it was in MechWarrior 2).

I think each mech looks odd, and the Centurion is fine. The Atlas is a walking target in its own right anyways. Looks are not meant to please all, and if you pilot it you don't even see it!

No probly not, but there are other mech that have chicken like legs. If you have played other mechwarrior games before then you would know of the Timber Wolf (MW2) a.k.a. Mad Cat (MW4). It has the backwards knees.

Atlas may be a walking target but it's a walking target that can roll with the punches and outright kill its opposition. Of course, it's kind of an expensive, slow, lump of soon to be salvage, without support... which is one of the cool things being emphasized in this iteration of MW computer gaming. I wouldn't expect to get very far in any of the heavy mechs without some lighter ones to support them; even the best armour in the world can't take every hit coming in for long enough to let you kill all the annoying small things and you can't even shoot what you cannot see / catch.

im not too knowledgable bout table top but from what i saw in mechcommander and pictured from the dark ages book, the representation of the centurion that you have made is too bulky isnt it sposed to be tall and slender?
