A lot of 'mechs you might not see are the mediums with a 64.8 kph speed, like the centurion and hunchback. Out of those 'mechs, you'll most likely see the Cent AL and D, as well as Hunch 4G and 4P respectively (the 4P's stock heat efficiency is not that bad surprisingly).

If anything, I'll look forward to piloting a Kintaro. Has plenty of close range firepower and has adequate long range capability, with the armor to survive.

Among IS mechs, there are basically 4 speed groups. @50-most Assaults. @65-Most Heavys and Mediums. @80-Fast Mediums and Heavies. @115-Fast Lights.

...oh...and Super slow Urbie Speed.

We've done stock mech evening this wednesday with the unit. Lights are all pretty slow. The really fast ones either have no weapons worth mentioning (locust, spider) or very low (leg)armor (Cicada, Jenner). Phoenix Hawk is worth a look. 97kph feels like supersonic speed in 3025 and has decent weapons.

My favorite light in 3025 is the raven 2X, only 81kph but great firepower for 35tons.

It's really easy to move as a group because most mechs run at 65kph including panther and faster assaults like victor/banshees

Does this list mean that to play the Stock Mech Mayhem events I need to run only these mechs/variants of mechs, or can I say ride a MAD-5M with Tech1 equipment? I ask this, because I just recently sold my MAD-3R but kept all the equipment so I can rather easily switch MAD-5M from the build I'm using now to 3R or even make it a 3M variant which is also tech 1 based on Sarna.net info.

I haven't played a stock game, but I believe that the game mode forces the 'Mech into it's original stock configuration. So, no, sorry, you would get the stock 5M.
