Why do certain clan mechs get like 3 little dabs of paint?

The clans are all about efficiency. Painting entire mechs with complicated camo is wasteful, quiaff?

Which makes it REALLY hard to advertise Clan Diamond Shark products in matches while still getting the tone right. You would not believe how difficult it is to try and mimic an infomercial with out having a conjunction or two.

It's on all wave 1 and 2 clan mechs iirc. Was probably PGIs way of trying to force us to buy camos.

Newer clanmech releases are fully paintable though.

Other clan 'mechs do this too unless you put a camo scheme on them. The earlier clan 'mechs were all that way while the newer clan 'mechs have more color on their default pattern.

This is actually true. Not painting a mech probably saves tons of weight. Same as military vehicles.

Conjunctions are a disgrace to the language and lazy if you do not have time to speak correctly do not speak at all....

They don't use contractions but have no compunction about abbreviations. Because "aff" is appropriate, but "can't" is entirely base.

It's mentioned in one of the books (perhaps the Jade Phoenix trilogy) that Clan Mechs are often left in a rough condition cosmetically, as it's a waste of time and resources to go about repainting and prettying up when they're going to be going into combat anyway.
