It seems this guy does this often, because I know Ive seen this happen in another GIF that shows a completely different card game (different clothes, position, etc...). I'd be like...take off aye...like forever!!

As in the Viper thread regarding the same “issue“: no, I am strictly against it. If you want the pods of the reinforcements or the hero, buy them or wait until they are released if youre to cheap or dont want to for whatever reason. Whats the point of mechpacks if you can get everything with just the basic pack?
You only purchased the basic pack? Well then have fun with just the P, A, B omnipods.

Our group have been trying to decipher what you are explaining.

Could you please clarify the point you are trying to get across that pertains to this actual post?

Nobody plays that anyway so why bother?

@Fbj:'Whats that difficult to understand? Switch the pods you got around your mechs. Not every single variant needs to be the same cheesy build.

I think it's time for some real talk, in regard to this omnipod hording business model PGI has.

The standard linebacker mechs have terrible hardpoints. Full Stop.

Now, this isn't really a problem because it's an omni mech and can change its hardpoints....but it can't because PGI has decided that buying omnipods as an omnimech is bad. Because of this, you will not be able to purchase extra omnipods until the mech releases for cbills. So that means for probably 6 months after you purchase linebackers, you'll probably only be able to build maybe 2 passable mechs while waiting for the other omnipods to unlock.

Here's the thing, I want a Linebacker, I think it'll be cool. But how can I justify buying linebackers, when 75% of the 6 mechs I purchase will be worthless, and let's be clear they will be worthless without the ability to fit more light clan lasers.

Now, as I always say, I don't like to point out problems without being able to also offer a solution, and I just happen to have one.

I understand that the issue with the omnipods is PGI can't block people who haven't purches the reinforcements from buying these omnipods. I get it, your Programmer Fu is weak and you don't want to do actual work.

There is another option though:

If a player purchases the Linebacker Reinforcement pack, give them 6 copies of every omnipod along with the mechs.

This now gives you all the omnipods you should need for every other mech, while circumventing that nasty "we can't program our way out of a paper bag" element.

Problem solved, everyones happy, and more people might actually buy the Linebacker.

I could agree about hardpoints and "free for all" omnipods.

BUT, the linebacker will SUCK hard for another reason: 65 tonner with 16-17 free tons.
Unless stronk quirks, she'll be one of the worse mechs. (and pretty sure pgi will screw it even more)

It's a simple solution to a big problem. I said the same thing when they released the Vipers, and it still applies now.

Solid suggestions, Sader. I am skipping the LBK specifically it can't do anyting useful without owning all of them and that ticks me off even more than their common "pay to SRM" model. I would add heroes to this as well. Especially for the Viper, locking the Medusa's arms to one set is just maddening.

21 effective equipment tonnage with nearly max armor is plenty in a package as small as a Catapult and as fast as a Stormcrow (22 effective tons), and more maneuverable than both. I think it will be a lot of fun.

Settlers of Catan.
I can agree with this. Maybe not 6 sets, but at least a couple would be good.

6 Sets would be needed to cover every mech.
