Well they could equip antipersonnel pods with these superheavies, right Posted Image?

Light mechs aren't personnel.

That aside, colossal class Inner Sphere mechs tend to be really expensive and inefficient attempts to imitate Clan assault mech firepower.

A Clan colossal mech, on the other hand, I would wonder what kind of craziness it could unleash...

What about Elementals?

Screw Elementals, give me my Protomechs. Seriously, I want to own the battlefield in my Roc by sniping people with my single ERML.

Of course a LOLcust isn't an unarmored person, but it was a joke about the LOLcust being small and having small armors.

Superheavies. I've known some women in my time that would fit this chassis type.

I'd rather have Quadrupeds

Ares is a triped, which is the best yo can hope for!

And seriously though, 135t, they'd sell like hotcakes, I'd want one, to mount 4 Lbx20 and 2 PPCs

In all the games I remember elementals ran at about 64 kph. Those little genetic enhanced doods are fast.

Well, the way to fix them being so damn squishy and underpowered compared to a mech - you would have 4-7 bots that spawn with you as elementals as well and once you get shot you control the closest bot that's alive

Also you could customize them separately, like a drop deck

Armament could include SRM0.5, super light gauss, and super light lasers

^Now that would be GLORIOUS

Good God, man, the forums would be awash with tears. Paul wouldn't even bother with the nerf bat, no, it's too small, that won't do. Not even the nerf hammer. This is a special occasion. He would summon a giant nerf meteor the size of Texas that would impact the earth with enough force to blast a quarter of our planet's mass into orbit to form our planet's very own ring system and knock our planet into a retrograde orbit that would eventually see us smash into Venus after a few thousand years after our atmosphere was blasted away and the seas boiled and escaped into the vacuum of space but damn would that Ares be nerfed.

Oh yes! That does sound like something that would happen, I mean look at the cries over the KDK, which isn't even that scary now, this thing would kill a KDK in 2-3 salvos Posted Image

However imagine if they also had the elementals like I described (player + 7 bots whom he can control once he dies) and flyers, this would be like [Titanfal meets MWO]^2

This would turn the epic scale to max

I bet if they made a resistance/clan pack like that for 80 bucks whew, half the population who can afford it would buy

It'd go like this

20 USD
Elementals

40 USD
Elementals + Protomechs

60 USD

Elementals + Protomechs + Flyers

80 USD

Elementals + Protomechs + Flyers + Collossus

IIRC, the guy that programmed the weapons originally either quit or got fired, so they said it would "take time" for them to figure out how it worked again. That was years ago.

I've seen this before, but no one ever was able to provide a link
Only a hint to look in the archives
You wouldn't actually happen to have a link, or Screenshot?

Good news everyone, no new content ever because PGI doesn't have any staff capable of producing new code.

So that's where you're "coder left" info came from

--------
Now I think it would fit into MWO's problems and history
But I have yet to see anything even hinting to that "coder problem" being actually true

I remember advanced zoom not being possible (unpixelated) because of fps and implementation issues within the engine (having to render 2 images)

Not sure it's the coder but limitations imposed by the engine

Still would kind of fit

It wouldn't be in any way OP though, a slow moving megamech like that would actually bring much more role focused play

As in you would most likely take it down with LRMs because staring at it would be suicide, or take it down with light mechs

That would encourage lights/mediums to stick around for it's protection

Thoug of course we know how it would turn out, a 40kph collossus left behind the nascar by morons and killed by a Locust or Jenner

We could make these Superheavies as non-playable bots, if ever.

no, the coder's are not talented peole that know everything inside out. There are technical limitations in lag compensation of course, but you can easily tell from the lack of creativity in automated weapons like turrets.
I think, they mostly copy tutorials, and are happy that it runs somehow.
