Only the Scorpian and Goliath would be available. the Xanthos is no longer in production. The Fire Scorpion is a Clan Goliath Scorpion Mech and was not involved in the Clan Invasion. The Snow Fox is a Clan Ice Hellion Mech and they were in inolved in the Clan Invasion.

In case of the Xanthos, a little stretch wouldn't be horrible. And I wasn't necessarily talking about mechs available in 3049, just before the 3060s. My bad for the lack of clarity in my post.

I demand, a new mech be made for this game that is a quad and only for this game. Maybe a mix of the snow fox and scorpion.

In the TT a quad CAn walk with up to two legs destroyed and can mount small lasers on the legs. I have played many and the rules were updated when they became popular. In MWo I would love to see and play a quad they do make a fun alt. for a biped.

I feel that the only major advantage to Quad mechs in BT was the fact that they were extremely stable, they were really hard to topple because they had four legs and that gave you an advantage on your rolls. The other is that they could sidestep. Only one of those advantages really transfers to the game, and I don't know if one advantage is worth disregarding the other mechs they could put in instead.

I see all of those advantages transfering over. Stabilty, which would result in better accuracy whilst aiming, makes sense. Hard to topple makes sense as it would suffer little-to-no knockback from enemy weapons, and of course side stepping.

If I remember Quads correctly from their entries in the Technical Readouts they can still move with up to 2 of their legs destroyed if the pilot is good, dissipate heat better in water because their heat sinks transfer their heat exchange through the legs, are more stable than the average bipedal mech while still so would make for increased accuracy while aiming, but a less smooth ride while moving, can move laterally (strafe) and go hull down (squat) to take advantage of cover better than mechs of a similar mass.

I would definitely pilot a Scorpion and/or a Goliath. I think that down the road they would be an interesting and valuable tactical asset and just fun to pilot.

I'd love to see some quad mechs. Adding more to the game is always a good thing, in terms of mechs.

Fire Scorpion: Introduce 2834, still viable.
Goliath: Introduced 2652, viable, rare until 3060s.
Scorpion:Introduced 2570, still viable.
Snow Fox: Introduced 3015, Clan design, not available in IS prior to invasion.
Xanthos: Introduced 2564, extinct by the start of the 2nd Succession war (2830), rediscovered in 3070s, so out of theme.

All that said, there is a nice list of quads, but you have to be careful. The Sirocco was introduced in 3059, for example. Got 10 years to wait on that one. The Tarantual was listed in the 3055 Tech Readout, so not likely, and so on. Still would be interested in seeing them fielded, if possible. Sometime down the line.

Legging them would prove difficult seeing as

a.) They Move pretty quickly (Think about legging a light...)
b.) The legs are GENERALLY low profile
c.) The legs are slender in some cases (Adding to the low profile idea)
d.) The legs are usually pretty heavily armored because of the fact they would be very less effective without even one leg.

a) They don't if they are heavy/assault class.
;) Legs are no harder to hit than on a classic 'mech, there are just more of them.
c) Again depends on weight of the design.
d) THERE is a real advantage. Having the same armor as a torso makes for some chunky lovin'.

a.) Duh.
b.) Actually, quad mechs can "hull down" (Look it up)
c.) Duh.
d.) ;)
