Hmm, clan hero mechs is likely, that fits the theme of recent announcements but isn't a new chassis.

We can hope that it relates to singleplayer, maps or game modes. New assault mode is a possibility.

Announcing an announcement... announception Posted Image

You know, just... tell us.. or don't.

I hate this teasing, in the end it mostly is a huge letdown and a big buzz about nothing.

Never gonna happen. Imagine the outcry of those who purchased at the old, higher prices recently...within the last year...ever. Prices may go up, they aint ever going down.

There are ways to do it that will help alleviate the outcry and minimize the effects thereof while still helping increase sales of older mechs and providing better value. For example, if the cost of mechs out for 6 months was reduced by 20% and the cost of those over a year old reduced by 50% that would spur sales of older heros and probably result in a lot less negative response from previous purchasers than a straight reduction out the gate. Someone who wants the mech right away can pay more upfront to get it but those who wait will save some money.

This would probably result in more overall revenue because there will be three times that mechs can be promoted. Whales will still whale and pay more to get it faster but people who might not otherwise have purchased a mech may buy it after the price drops.

You may be right, I just think it more likely thaat they would continue to do stuff like that in terms of a special "sale" event (which is just as likely to be "a big announcement" as anything else). Making a seemingly "permanent" cost structure change I think would be more hassle than it is worth from PGI's perspective.

Clan mastery packs, like the IS mastery packs? Why did they never do this one anyway?

The mastery bundle format they established packs a Hero, Champion and regular variants together, and no clan mechs have both a Hero and a Champion. They have (S) variants though which give the same cbill bonus as Hero mechs, but are usually based on the Prime variant of a chassis, and which champions are also usually a different bonus version of the same variant.

That would be awesome!

Then we could get alternate ammo for standard IS AC/s (AP, tracer and precision....), hell it would open the doors for the MML and the ATM series launchers too!

Maybe that "one guy" has had some communication with the current engineers and the correct level of understanding required to finish his work has been reached.
A long shot i know, but never say never :P

New Hero Mechs to existing chassis.

I do not think it will be a new hero mech, but the Timberwolf hero would be an instant buy for me.

I wonder. How is only one man capable of implementing ammo switching? I understand and appreciate that coding is an incredibly complex and difficult task, but to suggest that only one man possessed the competency and that no other engineer on the entire staff could learn how either speaks to this unnamed individual's brilliance, or to the mediocrity of their engineers - and the latter of which I am hesitant to accept.

It could also be that they are going to announce an official time line change and new weapons tech.
