Yeah, I am "one of those guys" who puts big TCs on my Kodiak because I think Quad UAC/5 with 30% velocity boost and neigh-instantaneous targeting information (TC+CAP) makes it an awesome shredder.

I may stack all 3 to get instant paper doll acquisition (at any range)
That 100% bonus, just to confirm when you blow faces out

Oh yeah, TC Mk VI + CAP + Target Info Gathering + Adv. Targetin Decay is the Ultimate Sensor Package... and I like big packages.

The interesting thing about TCs is that, while they boost the crit chances of most projectile weapons and all energy weapons, the dedicated crit-seeking weapons(LBX AC and MG) get nothing from them. I can understand with MGs, they weigh next to nothing and are terrifying once your armor is gone, but LBX need a buff anyways. Why not let them take advantage of the Crit boost? The boost isn't even noticeable unless you are using a TC Mark IV and up, and Clan LBX are notorious for being bad to begin with. I understand that this might make LBX OP, but really, when the crit boost doesn't really mean much unless you spend at least four tons and four crits on a TC? I think it could be the buff LBX ACs need to make them worth-while.

Nope, cause IS LBX will not benefit from it. LBX simply need stats boost.

Remember , they had to fix Targeting computers at some point earlier this year, as they weren't functioning properly.

Cold. Hard. Facts. Thank you! It would seem we have a winner!

So as to answer my original question, TC VI would have additive 12,675% critical chance on top of base 42%, making the TC VI critical chance to grand total of 54,675%.

Now as to the dice rolls. Statistically it does not matter into how many dice rolls (I've seen suggested from 1 to even 4) you break the critical calculation. If you fire gauss rifle a 100000 times into structure, you would be getting with base crit% 61985 single critical hits.

The only difference with 1-3X critical system is just that if you get incredibly lucky, you can suprise you foe by getting three critical hits by one shot. But again, as per the example above, if you shoot 100000 times and even out all your 1-3X crits, you would get the statistical 61985 single criticals.

Why 61985 single crits and not 42000 aka. 42%?
(100000 * 0,42) * 0,595 = 24990 single crits
(100000 * 0,42) * 0,333 = 13999 double crits > 27998 single crits
(100000 * 0,42) * 0,0714 = 2999 triple crits > 8997 single crits

24990 + 27998 + 8997 = 61985 single criticals out of 100000 shots.

Hmm.. the last part of my previous post got me thinking:

If the actual chance for single critical hit statistically is 62% while base crit chance being 42%, (that includes not only 1x, but 2x and 3x crits as well, see above) how much the TC VI statistically boosts the single crit percentage?

(100000 * 0,54675) * 0,595 = 32531 single crits
(100000 * 0,54675) * 0,333 = 18224 double crits > 36448 single crits
(100000 * 0,54675) * 0,0714 = 3903 triple crits > 11709 single crits

32531 + 36448 + 11709 = 80688 single criticals out of 10000 shots.

So statistical single (1x) crit chance is being boosted from 62% to 80,7%. In percentage points (not same as percent: https://en.wikipedia...ercentage_point) this means 18,7 pp increase. In percents it would mean 23,2% increase.

Now: if we remember what the wiki page said, could this mean that all along it has been talking about this same thing, the evened out percentage for single crit? Because now we start to get really close with the numbers:

MWO gamepedia wiki page for TC VI:
Increased crit chance for projectile and beam weapons: [+23.5]%
