Am I correct in understanding that we have to achieve 4 KMDs per day - one in each weight class - for 17 days, in order to win the maximum prize level?

it doesn't take an hour.
it just updates at the top of the hour.

so like if you got a KMDD at 03:58, it will show at the 04:00 update
if you got your KMDD at 04:02, you will see it updated at 05:00

for the max C-Bill reward, yes 17 days of KMDD's
for max MC = 8 days within the 17 days of the event
for the Play a day rewards, 12 days

Offloading the reward updates reduces the load on the game servers.

It looks like if you are able to play one game every day and get your KMDD in that match you only need 6 more games with a KMDD to get max MC!

Nothing could be finer than an event themed for Steiner. It's good to forget our Falcon woes by gifting KMDDs to other foes. Many c-bills shall be banked, to PGI we give our thanks. Despite poor teamwork never fear, just cool each alpha with frosty beer. Happy Mechtoberfest!

Played some matches and seems this event could require it.

Scoreboard has said I have gotten 5 so far in the last 3 hours but nothing showing yet.
Anyone else having this issue?

yeah it takes almost an hour to update.

I got credit. Look for the appropriate checkbox on your thing, which indicates that you achieved a particular Challenge on a particular Day. Also, note that the Event Page says...

Rewards received from this Event will be injected into player accounts on October 18th.

...and you won't get any actual Account Injections from this Event until then. In the time until, keep racking them up, and make sure to use Mechs from ALL the Weight Classes!

just a matter of normal play and you win things

unless your someone that only pilots one weight class, then they would need to change which mech they use 3 different times, once a day for 17 days (for max rewards).
not much difference then just normal playing.

I find it interesting how it sounds like some are grabbing a specialized mech for just KMDD'ing mechs just for one KMDD
