And 40 challenges over 8 days still nets you 2 million cbills.

This is good. If you bring the right mechs on the right maps you can be done in under an hour everyday. Even if it doesn't go "perfect" it won't take long...

As I said near the start of the thread...i have a couple dozen mechs to master level, I'm just playing a mix each day. I just did my warhammers, and next up are a pair of timber wolves, a summoner, a rifleman, my archers, a dire wolf, three atlases, a couple jenners, a commando, three shadow hawks and a vindicator.

Nope its midnight UTC, currently about 8pm Eastern US time...

There is a Counter on the top of the Event Page, 2 actually. One for counting down to the end of the event and one that counts down to the end of the day.

Their events always run off utc . Why is it people are always surprised by this?

At the very least, try to get one 80-match score game per day and then fill out with the KMDDs as you can.

Regarding the event page...

noticed it gets refreshed every hour, so if you finish play at 3:59 you get update at 4:00, if you finish play at 3:01 ou will get the update at 4:00...

Moreover it "checked" for me 10 challenges, but stated 9 of 10 ... and that little bugger updated even some minutes later.

That is really ... "not a good user experience"

Same reason Donald Trump does well in the polling... people will choose to believe whatever nonsense makes them happy.

Most of the player base doesn't use the forums and don't pay attention to when events happen. Their user experience isn't bothered by a slow update to event goals they cared little about.

Still liking this event. There are some that have cried for a daily event with bonuses. This fills that void, even if only for a couple weeks. And it is not so far fetched that it cannot be done in 4-10 matches of QP. About time. (I wasn't a crier but know one.) And yeah so far I have done mine in 4-6. It seems like PGI is actually reading the forums without interacting. More interaction would be nice, but the salt will devestate anyone with any self worth. Keep on keeping on!

Cheers!

Agreed I'm levelling mechs from scratch so picked my Oxide, an SRM Griffin 1S, Sparky and a Kodiak.

Hard not to get at least one KMDD even on the receiving end of a massacre. Plus having all the xp as "useful" helps on days like Saturday when I lost 4 in a row trying to double mechs. Made up for on Sunday by doubling all 4 mechs first time! ;)

Mostly my confusion with the event timer was self inflicted. I didn't read the event page close enough and being that this is the first everyday event I was trying to keep up but oh well. Btw thanks to my confusion they updated the timers so they are almost impossible to miss now :).

Yes !you can do this in Faction play. They do not need to be in separate matches unless it is quickplay.
Part of the benefit of this event is that it attempts to even out the effort and reward in QP and FP.

We hope you like it and strive to get all rewards you desire.
We will be looking at feedback and telemetry to see if this event is a winner.

One thing to be clear on is the only way to get max C-bills rewards is to complete each challenge each day.

There are two problems with getting all KMDD in one faction play match.
1. Some people do not have one of every weight class in their drop decks.
2. The other side most of the time, dies too fast for getting 2 or 3 mechs into the match.

If someone is coming to faction play and doesn't yet have experience and ownership of every weight class....I just have to question their dedication to the game. Hell even an all trial deck can get you the four KMDDs if you pick the right mechs from the options. For the clan side the obvious is the Jenner, Hunchback, Orion and Highlander. That hits the mark exactly at 250 tons and gives you two mechs with heavy SRM volleys and two with twin ultra-10s and all with good mobility for their weight categories.

The structure of this event (especially the C-Bill rewards) made a whole lot more sense after the first day.

Overall, this looks good. Minimum 8 days to get the MC. Minimum 12 days to get the cockpit items. Add C-Bill reward based on how much to want to grind. Works for me.

I wish there was something other than KMDDs to use for challenges. A day's worth of challenges only calls for 4 KMDDs, but it really alters the way people play (and not in a good way, usually).

When are the rewards going to be given out? At the end of the Event or during it, after you complete a challenge? I won the 100 MC and the MWO Logo Stein so far...

Thanks!

With the exception of a few bizarre games last night I don't agree so far - people have mostly played normally as the requirements should just be met by normal play. Of course last night we had 6 heavies and mediums abandoning their team to take down a single Hellbringer that had been afk at the start so...... a variant of the hunt the light syndrome!
By the time they finished we'd lost 4 to their 11 man deathball and eventually lost 12-2. It happens sadly and just in normal play as well. ;)

@Scipio: From the event description:

Rewards received from this Event will be injected into player accounts on October 18th.

Well, they could have made it "10 Kill Assists while piloting a(n) <weight class>", but that would have unfortunately taken all effort out of the Event altogether. Sadly, that would have set off all those damned "Make It Harder!" whiners, whom I happen to be rather extremely sick of. So let's just be happy that PGI managed to find the minimal balance inbetween, alright? ;)
