Discussion: Banking Premium Time Within One's Unit?

Seriously... there are a lot of us who eithe rbarely play anymore, or who quite simply don't need the 454 days of Premium Time we have banked.
I would love to donate them to my Unit. (Well, my Clan Account has a but less stocked up at the moment, but I would give it all to CGBI in an instant if I could).
It would be a boon for Private Matchmaking, Practice, Trials, etc.
Thoughts, flaws, etc?
(Am aware that a dickish unit commander could just hoard stuff, but then that's why one should be sure of their unit before making any donations, period).

That would theoretically lower the buying of premium time, since people that didn't play any more would give it to their friends instead of those friends buying the time themselves. PGI is currently trying to find MORE ways to make money, not less.
(I'd love it being implemented, but, PGI)

Already run that risk with Cbill donations. Don't see much differnece.
It's more the loss of Premium Time purchases that I feel will keep them from considering it, but never happen for sure if I don't try.
On the other hand one could also put in limits to how much premium time can be donated and or banked to minimize abuse, and "lost sales".

Loss of PT sales would be real, but PGI should be able to tell just how much banked PT is out there. Maybe it isn't that big of a deal.

From PGI's perspective, never gonna happen. Be it "won" premium time or bought, there is no way they are going to let players have control of this commodity any more than they will let us give/trade mechs or other game content among ourselves. They let us share c-bills with our units only because of the FP unit tax. PGI views private matches as an "extra", a luxury item if you will. As such, if you want to use it, go buy some premium time. They are not going to let whole units (effectively) avoid this cost even for only occasional access.

I would find ways to use it among the group for sure.

Well if you give Cbills to your unit, you can't give it back to others members ...
Also IF it was possible to give MCs or premium time to unit why you hope it would be able to make a nice use of it
Look it's PGI, giving Cbills to unit is possible since 3 years now and what else... 3 years after we still can't basically do NOTHING interesting with this money.
For 3 year the only use of unit coffer was for break FW contracts earlier, now even this isn't possible anymore.
Now you use cbills for hire people, stupid thing which solve NOTHING about FW units population or about active peoples in big units.
Yea solve NOTHING it just gave us illusion that unit coffers are usefull but it is just an illusion like the whole game in fact >>>

It's just an illusion, illusion, illusion
