Probably not worth it, at least compared to the hellbringer L you can get for the same price.

Phracts and Hunchbacks are my 2 favorite mechs. Its definitely worth it if you want to spend 20 on Cyclops, which are also very solid mechs. Masc is going to be a welcome addition to help get you out of tough spots and crossing open ground. I'd posted on this mech before to be put into game since it was in the data files for over a year but hadn't been released. Glad its been released as a reward.

I'd say that you're attracting bad mech karma by poopooing the two best IS heavies, but I guess you're already being punished by not playing them and experiencing their awesomeness.
And all for the walking beer belly that is the CTF?
The MAD does not look like a deformed crab, it looks likes the King Crab's nephew. He should be called Duke Crab or some such.
Speaking of assaults, what about the KC? It may not be meta, but it's the embodiment of tankiness.
I don't think the Cyclops will be meta, either, but I enjoy it. I explored options, and the AC/20/SRM with whatever for backup lasers is what worked best for me. If the criticism is that it's a heavy with more armor or a medium in terms of speed, then for an assault brawler what that really means is that you can close with the speed, lose some armor on the way in, and still be in decent enough condition to start offering up your hug of death.
In simple economic terms, it makes sense to buy assaults for 20 bucks because they will cost more MC/Cbills later.
May you get what you want out of your purchase.

One information that is missing is the quirks for CTF 3L. PGI should have release it by now, the customer appreciation rewards is in just nine days = /

My completely inexpert opinion is that you should go ahead and do it.
I grabbed the Bushwacker for the customer appreciation awards so that I could get a second "free" mech - the cataphract. As an early deal to start my stable, there really wasn't a better deal to spend a small amount of cash money to get two free mechs, so I bought the Bushwacker.
Since the heavy sale was going at the same time, I picked up the CTF-0XP and the -3D and have been playing those as my first mechs (mainly because I'm not sure which Blackjack I want to pick up ahead of the rewards, and I'm hoping for a medium sale soon)
After rebuilding the two of them from the ground up, they're doing much better (srsly, wtf are they so derpy when you buy them??)
0XP got the AC20/4x med las treatment, and most games I hit 300-500 damage and do pretty okay with it (yes, yes, I'm a noob)
3D I went 2x uAC5/4x med las to maximize on the quirks. This one is harder for me to do well on. I've found it doesn't work as well in the claustrophobic maps.
Both of them are an exercise in patience and timing. Move too fast and jump in the fight quickly and they'll cut you down. wait too long and you'll be too late to really contribute.
