You're a founder. Unless you were absent then, you should know very well what happened the last time PGI limited group sizes.

You're right. I've been around since before damn near anyone else. You keep referencing "the last time" and I have no clue what you're referring to. Are you talking about groups in the quick play queue? As I already mentioned in a reply to another one of your posts, there are MANY things that have changed since 3 (or was it 4) years ago. If this is what you're referring to, you need to stop. It's comparing two completely different scenarios at completely different times of this game's life cycle.

Barring any changes to the queues, use private matches for training purposes. Others have done so.

This really fails the "new player experience" test. People want a game to be quick to start and give them reasonable winning chances while they are learning.

Well consider the following:
  • MWO has a declining population.
  • A third queue is out of the question.
  • Many solo players will raise hell if pairs are allowed into the solo queue.
  • PGI cannot afford another mass exodus.
  • People can practice and learn undisturbed in private matches.
Is there anything PGI can actually do?

I think taking any action on this topic involves displeasing some people. I definitely agree, you're going to lose some people if you make it not a pure solo queue, and there are others who will still play but will be less engaged with the game if you do.

That said, I also think action on this topic is urgent. MWO needs new players to survive, and in order to attract and retain new players they need to have a more welcoming new player experience. You need to find a way to make duos with new players get a match that's enjoyable for them to play.

You don't necessarily need to make the solo+duo queue thing. That's just the path of least resistance in my view.
