I do as well, it's great on the table top and MekTek did a brilliant job adding it to MW4: Mercs but I a little skeptical how it will preform in MWO. Other 80 ton mechs have had a bad history in game, the Awesome has a long career of under preforming until the rescaling and the Zeus popularity took a nose dive after number of changes.
My biggest concern is what will the Thug bring to the table with the lack luster performance of the IS PPCs, the Thug's primary weapon. Make it Large Pulse platform is the most obvious solution but will it preform any better that the current Pulse builds for the Awesome or Zeus?
I say we fix the PPC fist, then get the Thug.

I want more lights before we get more assaults, heavies or mediums.

Think we might be due for another Light soon, Clans still have few lights and we are now in the right time frame for the Fire Falcon, Cougar and Incubus but I believe PGI promised more IS mechs first after the Kodiak, Viper, Line Backer and Marauder IIC.
We may see a Devastator first only because PGI drop hints about it in the early Beta when they still had mock INN news updates.
My second guess would be the Thug inspired Hatamoto-Chi though I doubt it will out preform ether the Awesome or Zeus. The Charger would be a good April Fools release like the Urbie but I rather see other designs first.

I would also like to see the charger, with its laser vomit it would be very strong in today's meta.
The ppcs definitely need fixing or at least a buff.

It is a great looking mech, right up there with the Awesome and Warhammer.
Thug Jose would make for a interesting template for a hero mech (MWO doesn't have a Null Signature System, doubt it would work better than ECM anyway)
Major Sandy Riech's Thug would also be a nice hero variant considering it's the only Thug with Jump Jets but would need to find a replacement for Clan Tech considering Mix Tech still isn't in the cards for MWO.
