or did player quality take a HUGE drop?

i left mwo about 3 years ago and only just decided to try it again. and player quality seems way worse than it did when i left.

or is it just because i'm in t5?

Yep. I am convinced that T5 is a wonderland filled with mechs with 20 rear armor and single heatsinks.

Since you're in Tier 5, buy a Hellbringer when you get a chance... you'll be invisible in the lower tiers.

If you hated the AC/40 Jager cheese back in the days, then I have good news! The current meta (as far as I know) is now boating as many lazurs as you can and alpha striking whenever you can. (Which is totally not worst than AC/40). Enjoy

Seeing all this talk about the typical Tier 5 players kinda makes me wanting to make a second account, just to see if the player qualitiy is really that bad.

I will agree, Tier 5 players are like LoL Bronze Players. It is an ELO hell that we can dig ourselves out of but It is time consuming.

i wish my main frustration would be laser boats. alas, it's not. it hasn't even reached that stage yet.

i'm a light mech pilot and i just had 4 games in a row (all losses) where all my assaults/heavies huddled together behind rocks and refused to get into a shooting position.

kinda miss the old days when everyone played "follow the atlas" and brawled like crazy. at least it was fun. now, every match is a 12-3 or a 3-12 kinda match where whichever team huddles first loses. boringgggggg.

pardon me while i go punch a baby now. grr.

don't do it. you will cry. i spectated one of my teammates and saw him get into a duel with a enemy heavy. both were standing still within 200m. he literally missed EVERY SINGLE SHOT he took for 20 sec straight. the enemy didn't do much better either.

i wanted to vomit (lasers).

Honestly, poptarting still isn't a major thing since JJs are still just HoverJets, but it IS all about PPFLD right now.

As a former T5 I can attest to the hilarious new player antics that go on down there.

One of my most memorable moments was in my HBR-prime brawling against a TBR on forest colony. We started circle strafing for what seemed like minutes as we both fumbled with all the weapon groups and missed almost every time. I think I wound up bringing him down just because I had a streak 6 that I couldn't miss with... Good times

When PSR went live, it was based on the player's ELO/games played as of Jan 1st 2015 when it went live August 2015. If you had not played then you would have started off in Tier 5.

What lights are you piloting? If you were halfway decent you will not be in Tier 5 for long, much less Tier 4.
