The Real question I have (asked in another similar thread to no response)

Was how hard would it be to convert a used one of these:

A TsuMo Tsunami motion simulator system (Originally Came with an arcade version of MW4 and Crimson Skies, etc..)

Into a functioning 6 axis full controller..? I can see removing the bubble, and making your own plexiglass one that resembles a cockpit..

It would be awesome if the connection of this into the computer in the base, was a simple USB cable or regular 9 pin cable etc..

Have to think it would be relatively simple. I Know the "games" for this system came on CD, so makes me think it was driven by a PC, so it may already have "Drivers". I also know that it had a separate driver board for the motors to move the simulator, not sure how that would work.

Being it used a modified version of a PC game it would seem to be fairly simple.. but I am not a hardware or software (Coding) person.. so not sure the difficulty level it would take to do it.

Anyone..? I know we have guys here with mad skills that might be able to know what to do..

Believe it or not I've played that (at Chuck E Cheese.... with my 4 year old) and I have to tell you, if you are not small guy (I'm 6'2) then this is extremely cramped.

I plan on adapting my current Nixim Polecat race sim chassis for MWO. I'm planning on combining that with a TM Warthog HOTAS and most likely CH rudders (for torso twist assuming its mapable....with the toe brakes for JJ) and thinking of setting up a seperate PC with a couple of touch screens networked back to the main gaming PC and using TouchBuddy in place of MFD's

All of this is going to depend on whats mappable and multi screen support...............

At 6'1 it was cramped.. take the ball off and I don't think it will be that bad. The real question is could we get it to work with MW:O because it was FUN to play.. and think the 6 axis motion was more than just fun, it actually helped my piloting skills.

The key to a sim-pit like the ones you see on viperpits and else where is the ability to pull instrumentation off the main display to alternate displays.

That aspect alone is what makes a sim-pit really stand out.

But if you took the TsuMo ball off and created a Cockpit around it and used Tablets for screens, and control surfaces you could have a true 4D experience not a static one.. :D

I think I finally know what to do with that surplus T-37 ejection seat I got dumped on me a decade ago.

I'm about 3/4's done building my cockpit, I'll post pics when it's finished enough to show it.

Running three 28" monitors on eyefinity, got a new force feedback HOTAS plus pedals from Logitech, etc. It's coming along nicely can't wait to show it off.

I'm gonna have to check out that link! Might have some ideas that didn't occur to me. my only "interactive" controls are my keyboard, HOTAS, pedals, nostromo, and mouse if you want to count that but it'll be out of my way really.

its just not realistic without a few space heaters that turn on full blast when you fire your weapons enough that your heat spikes and a neuro helmet with built in tazer that shocks you severly every time you take alot of damage...... just like when piloting a real mech when it gets hot as hell in the cockpit while fireing, and you get zapped by exploding consoles and the helmet when alot of damage hits you hehe

If you would like to keep it really simple and inexpensive - Rodger Dodger Aviation LLC http://www.rogerdodger.net/ sells plans for several simple cockpits using mostly PVC and Foam (XPS and EPS). At the very least it gives you some pretty good ideas about what you can do w/o building a heavy wooden structure.

Oh and another thing you can do is use something like gPad for Android and a tablet to make an additional touch screen button bank.

I sometimes entertained an idea like this. It would have had a sound-proofed plywood enclosure that would be entered from the top and use a bucket seat out of a car for the command couch (go to a junkyard and look for a cool one). The real snag would be how hot and sweaty it would get inside and the fact I would go deaf after I wired it for sound.

I'm designing mine with air pumps and heat exhaust in mind. Both for the pilot and the computer.

You guys should check out http://www.thewayiplay.com/ its a sister site for simjunkies.org great bunch of pit builders with lots of knowledge on pit construction.
I really like the pod style construction though but if you was using a multi monitor setup, that would greatly increase the width of the pod I suppose, maybe a projector setup on a curved screen? but then I guess that would have to depend on the focus capabilities of the projector. Still like the pod style though, maybee juz 1 big monitor.
Yep darnit, now I have to make room for a second pit in the man cave :P

Ummm... if you mean a commercial gaming cockpit... Probably the best bang for the buck out there right now is the Obutto.
