Lasers that were yellow, red and purple were seen in the Centurion reveal video, aside from red these colours diverge from those of previous games and have left the community buzzing with speculation. Now, hypothetically if it was possible to buy colours for your lasers do you think that posses no problems, or can you foresee an issue with it? How enthusiastic would you be to that idea?

Of course, to prevent confusion between different laser classes each would be limited to a small spectrum (ie. Large Lasers limited to Yellows and Oranges; Medium Lasers to Reds and Pinks; Small Lasers to Blues and Greens), or the laserbeams itself can be of different sizes/brightness.

To increase differentiation maybe buying a colour should not be applied to all your laser-types, but just one specific weapon. For example, buying "pink" won't change all my medium lasers to pink but it will for just 1 medium laser that I've chosen.

Personally, I would like to be able to purchase colours for my lasers and make a Swayback that shoots rainbows. I shall name that Mech "NyanMech".

Read my post:
I'm not offering speculation on WHY the lasers were coloured, but rather want to gauge people's enthusiasm over having colours as a product.

I am not personally interested in buying laser colors. I would prefer the canon (at least in terms of MW video games) colors - and ideally have it so that if multiple beams are originating from the same mech section the lasers are spaced apart and you can see their true colors.

I would then like a 'colorblind mode' for the whole game, where for colorblind players the scheme is changed - including laser colors - to better suit their needs.

However, with that said, if the current laser combinations are still in when I get into beta you can bet I am making a Swayback with varying combinations of laser sizes in different places - and I am to make folks 'taste the rainbow' ;)

I would paint my mech a light blue, add a rainbow lightning symbol for a decal, have all lasers different colors, and name my mech rainbowdash

Im sorry to disagree, but the Colour shows the kind of Laser (Small,Medium, Large,ER,Pulse - combine in favorite way) it is.
And i think this is a good thing. ;)

Leave the colors up to the devs. Its their game and no i dont want to change the colors. Laser color is the only visual cue we have for threat level. You start letting people change color then actually paying attention counts for nothing.

Heh. I'd pay for custom laser colours, myself.

That said, I don't think allowing that is a very good idea from a design standpoint. Range and armour management are extremely important in a MW game, and players should ideally be able to distinguish at a glance what sorts of weapons are firing at them.

Yeah, but I thought there was a potential market to etch out here. You and I know about markets, we have a business together selling Freebirth Gum and Vat Grown Bacon! :P

I typically spend money for things that only add aesthetic value to a game and I don't think I'm alone. +1 for cash shop laser choices
