While I see how this could be abused by randoms, it's currently useless in PUGs (aside from the clever guy who chooses command and then gives it up 5 times).
How about once take it, you cannot give it up?
I think ppl could make a name for themselves, everyone complains about chaos, and if it's abused by some twits, I don't think that's a good reason not to try and make something already programmed meaningful.

Or it'll just turn into a game of 'Who can call command first' as everyone rushes for the C-Bill/XP bonus that they actually don't have to do anything with.
It will quickly just be a thing abused by the people who load into the game first. Pretty much nothing will change otherwise.

Everyone will just "take command" and do nothing except earn extra rewards.
You can already make a name for yourself by playing consistently well and using VOIP to lead your PUG team to victory on a regular basis.

Instead what about having each team vote for MVP after the game is over? Two rewards per game.
That could also be abused, but not as badly since it would require more than 1 person's actions to reap the rewards.
And I think that reward should not be 2x or 3x that seems kinda ridiculous. Maybe 20%-30% more c-bills...or maybe that Supply cache they give away should be voted for rather than random.

It would just be a matter of who can connect the fastest and snatch it before someone else does.

How about 2x reward if you command and win and 1/2 reward if you lose?

I know I'd like a commend system similar to Dota 2 myself, without any rewards. But that would mean players would actually have to have profiles. While we're speaking of things we'd like though? PGI PLZ give replays.

The problem with this idea, aside from the obvious "rush to command spam", is the fact that you cannot measure someone's command - the team might lose or win due to blatant disregard of orders, situational or conditional effects, or somebody's dumb luck.
Its way to uncertain to be awarded and used as intended.
I've played under some truly great commanders, and you just can't reward them enough for the fun they bring to the game. But to command is easy, to make people follow commands, now that takes skill.
Its a shame more people that play this game simply don't get that..
