I'm checking on things specific to me (my router, my computer, etc.). But is anyone else noticing much worse rubberbanding/teleporting/choppiness to MWO game play this week?

Ping shows as normal (50-55 for NA servers, 120 for EU), but some matches, sometimes several times during the match, ALL the mechs walk in place for a few seconds, then everyone's location gets updated and all the mechs teleport to new locations. My own location, heading, and speed seem to change randomly.

Its terribly no-fun, and I'd really like to blame "not me" -- but I'm still working on cause.

Thanks

Is this a recent development? During when this first started, to your knowledge, was any specific software installed/updated?

I've read that Windows Firewall for some games, has been causing connectivity issues and the like. With Windows updates going off on their whim, it may not hurt to give any OS networking programs a look-see.

I personally haven't noticed any issues in my games, but that's far too subjective a thing to claim that it's an issue on your side.

Obviously give your router and all networking a look-see. Have you done any firmware updating and such, to your router?

Your location says East Coast, so have you been affected by the recent hurricane? Depending on where your connection is in the trunk line, it may very well have been affected to some degree by the hurricane and potential damage along the lines.

Just some things to think of. If you've run through things on your end, and come up with nothing, consider ringing up your ISP. They may be able to trace the route your connection is making to the game servers, and see if there's a hangup, or routing issue.

I noticed this last night, was in a rather heated brawl with my shadow cat. Fired off my PPCs, then hit MASC+JJ so I could clear a team mate and cool off for another pass and thought I was well clear, then he's yelling at me to GTFO his face AND THEN I rubber band back and am stuck on the face of his splat hunchie!!! Played 2 more matches after that where the lag-banding got progressively worse to the point of unplayable.

I've had similar issues sporadically... but for me at least, I know it's nothing to do with the game. If I open up a command prompt window and do a "ping -t 8.8.8.8" (infinite pings to google's regional DNS servers), I can see each ping spike happening (usually it's ~30ms, but at these moments when MWO goes spastic it spikes to ~1500ms). It's my crappy router from my crappy ISP, I give it a restart and it's generally fine.
