I also think that they will chose a mech closing the tonnage gap between Stalker and Atlas.

So evereything with 90 (Cyclops, Mauler, Highlander) or 95 tons (Banshee) would be a viable option.

However I would also like to see the King Crab sometime later.

That "big grin" simply never dies: :P

Assault mechs to be added, Zeus, Thug. The Hatamoto-Chi is a Thug, almost exactly. Highlander would be another great one.

I'm still a fan of the Nightstar, also because of twin Gauss goodness. King Crab is also one of my favorites, would be even more if there's a way to implement C3I into the game.

I suppose that's true. Problem with the Jagermech though are the sacrifices it has to make to do that. The variant in question maintains the Jager's terrible armor coverage (6.5 tons though in this case at least ferro fibrous) and has an XL engine. Those are some serious durability concerns. The King Crab on the other hand can carry both Gauss rifles, have full armor of a hundred ton mech, and still carry back-up weapons besides. Plus, it's just awesome.

Oh, I fully agree. I would totally rock a King Crab over a dual Gauss Jagermech. I was just pointing out that the option is technically out there. Though it still might be possible to make the Jager a bit more viable... *scuttles off to play with Skunkwerks*

Stone. *************. Rhino.

(It, or rather, the Behemoth, was a late Star League design. Wolf's Dragoons had one in 3025...)

I know. "Shut up, Buckaroo."

Oh man. That thing is beautiful.

I would pay real money for that thing in a heartbeat, lol.

I totally read that as dual Glass Jagermech at first. I guess that just shows what I think of the Jagermech's durability.

I believe the Zeus was mentioned in an early interview, but we haven't seen anything else on it. Banshee is a possibility, as it became a popular mech in the S configuration and has some possibilities from an appearance standpoint. I think we can probably put the Mauler as the most likely mech after the Zeus, however. In addition to being a Faction mech, it mimics the Warhammer that MWO can't use.

As always, we'll have to see. What is interesting is that only makes 16 total mechs out of -alot- of models. The removal of the Unseen hurts, but there are still quite a few out there in each weight class. At their rate of reveals, that either means we'll be limited to only about 4 mechs in each class at start, or there will be a flood of 'mechs available in game that we'll not see before the game opens.

My favorite in TT was the Awesome, glad it made it, however the only assault class mech I will consider piloting is the Zeus, so I hope it makes it (I prefer faster mechs, but the Zeus has more than enough coolness factor to make up for the speed shortcoming)

That being said I think the Stalker has some great potential, especially from a weapons hard-point perspective, you can literally do anything with that mech (although at the end of the day it will still look like a Macy's Parade float)

The Stalker seems like the most frightening thing on the field other than an Atlas for the very reason you mentioned. Even an Awesome is limited by the minimum range of it's PPCs. The Stalker will kill you at any range you choose. It is not picky.

I feel like the Zeus or Mauler are the most likely for the final pre-launch assault mech. The Charger, Hatamoto Chi, Highlander, King Crab, Banshee or Devastator would all be great though as they do not count among the Unseen.

I'm hoping for the Mauler, as a matter of fact. But Highlander and Zeus would be cool too

Highlander, King Crab, Thug, Crockett/Katana: Star League mechs so very unlikely. Zeus: Steiner Awesomes have pretty much the same hardpoints as the PPC-armed Zeus, for the same tonnage. In fact, adding the Zeus might be a bad idea, because it would reduce the variety of Awesomes being fielded. Banshee & Charger: Are they popular enough to justify the effort this early on, are they the Urbanmechs of the assault class? Hatamoto: How would that "tin samurai" look translate into MW-O's artistic vision? Battlemaster, Marauder II: Unseen. Annihilator, Shogun, Imp: Wolf's Dragoons only, insanely rare. What does that leave?

Cyclops: Command mech with a solid range of hardpoint variants, 90 tons, quicker than an Atlas.
Mauler: Iconic looking missile & ballistic Awesome, 90 tons, Kurita only.
Victor: Close-in brawler, jump jets in every variant, good range of hardpoint variants.

I'm waiting for the Hatamoto-Chi Q_Q or maybe the Thug at least. Well only if they make PPCs worth something, the Stalker sounds like it will be fun, but I think with the lag shield lights that rear armor gonna hurt.

That or the Warhawk. (But we're going to have to wait a bit longer for that one :D
Edit: It looks a lot like the Daishi don't it?
