I have Directx11 on my computer.
Dx9 is auto selected by mwo.
When I go into settings and manually set it to dx11, -> save. Then, reopen video settings it has reverted to dx9
What is going on? Can anyone help me with this?

I don't know why that's happening either... Pretty frustrated right now. Is there a place I can go for help specifically for these issues? I mean besides a PC vendor...

The 200 series is DX10.1 compliant, not DX11.
That's probably the problem.
EDIT: And the 285 specifically is only DX10.0 compliant.

I don't think that prevents the use of DX11 (it's not like MWO is designed to make the most out of it).
Although, it makes more sense to have the hardware in the first place.

It prevents it.
DX revisions (That include new version numbers) require hardware designed for it. Whether that's an actual technical restriction, or a Microsoft/Video Card manufacturer conspiracy, is debatable (Much like how the moon landings are 'debatable), but it is how it works.
The system is telling him his operating system has DX11 (Which is up to date), not his hardware. A weird distinction that's confused many, but it is what it is.

Yes, this is correct reason. The card is too old.
Anyone not believing, google "gtx 285 direct x". Plenty of stories from different games, all saying the same thing. When the card is not capable, such version can't be used.
