In MWO terms, wouldn't it be very similar to the 3S just with a decent engine cap (thus making the 3S even more irrelevant)?
(Please be gentle, I don't really TRO, so I'm talking out of school here).

Probably avoided because it's too similar to other models, and because it's got two potential hero versions of it.

The 5S 'Sawyer' would be interesting as well, since it's jump capable. Could be a potential second hero, maybe?

And it's modeled...the La Malinche was going to have JJ but apparently that would have been OP or something?

Seems like the only reason to hold mechs off at least to me. Want that specific variant? Buy some packs. How could PGI not want to do something like that?

At the time, it was thought to be a better Highlander-732... before the Hoverjet change. Now, it's just mostly a joke build type of thing.
It also didn't have any JJ variants, which was kind of a problem... then again, we got more hero ECM variants added to the fold, beyond the hero Lolcust.

Agreed. I love me some more Banshees, though, easy and overall solid mech to pilot. My favorite 95 tonner overall. Might be my favorite assault overall even.

I'm apparently a sucker for 95 tonners since I love BNCs and EXEs both.

four words
CLASS ONE JUMPJETS
GGCLOSE
I think the BNC-3S, 5S, 7S, vandergriff, sawyer, rheinsblatt
have one common determinator nobody did try to make the record sheets consistent.
It's the same low quality as with the missile launcher on the Thunderbolt variants, or the location of the Gargoyles main armament.
the 5S has the missile in the arm plus two energy hardpoints in the other. but keeps the PPC in the torso (somehting you do with the 3S already when trying to "create" the BNC-5S.
The miniature of the BNC-3/5S places two lasers in the right arm and a big gun in the arm.
