a trial highlander jumped onto a trial stalker, jammed themselves into an lane on mining colony. Neither could move forwards or backwards and the highlander's jump jets weren't refilling so... I came up behind them and plugged the highlander with quad SRM4s from my Archangel (and with only a 90 degree ish torso twist, his weapons couldn't reach me). The stalker apparently could turn, but kept missing with his medium lasers largely because the highlander's left leg was blocking part of his hud, and until I exploded the highlander and he could finally move towards me. It came down to a bumper tag duel at 10 meters. Most of his laser fire was going over me while my SRMs were clearly hitting him. 30 seconds later, dead stalker and he managed to remove EXACTLY all my CT front armor but not any more (structure showed perfect shape).

Unfortunately by that time it was me versus 7 other enemy players... still...I got the second highest damage and match scores of BOTH teams (second only to a KDK-3 on the other team)...and I certainly punched above my weight....little 70 ton ARC-5W vs 165 tons of assaults.

Anyone else seen anything comical like that lately ? I unfortunately forgot to take a screen cap before I started shooting. They were jammed between some sort of angled plate and one of the round structures in grid D5 right near the marker on the map, position coordinates 2300 2383 322

It wasn't recent, but a man said that the enemy team was cheating with aimbots. Specifically, LRM aimbots. He wasn't joking or being sarcastic.

You know, I'm pretty sure I know who that is. He still plays, and his VOIP rants about how everyone is cheating, forever, are hilarious.

He also complains about cowardly LRM boats... while LRM boating cowardly.

This one time, on HPG Manifold, the enemy team immediately started attacking our left flank. And instead of forming up a firing line, my team started Nascaring right, counter-clockwise. So they picked us off one by one while we tried to chase their tail, and we eventually all died in a complete roflstomp. That was pretty funny.

True story.

Years ago, I was in a Highlander, as was my opponent, on old Forest Colony in the narrow gap area not far from the tunnel. We both leaped into the air - and managed to get stuck in terrain on the walls somehow?! Neither one of us could get free, so we continue or strange duel while glued to the walls! I don't remember who won since the "winner" I think died soon after (being unable to move and all that), but it was insanely hilarious.

As far as I know, this is one of two possible strategies accepted for HPG, the other being all 12 people turtling under the map center while the other team 'waste' their time capping the base or capturing the other 4 conquest points.

Was it away from the bridge so they could put the enemy up high to see them better or to allow them to cut the circle even faster? If so, woah! I have never seen that happen.

Sometimes people take the "Get within PPC minimum range" thing too far. This happened on multiple occasions, but one time I was in my poptart Vindicator AA and a wolverine dashes into the middle of my team after me and tries to face hug me. I'm not sure he realized that wouldn't make him any less dead. Other times I would be alone/last one and 'mechs that clearly couldn't match 108 kph were trying to close range on me, even though I just kept getting farther anyway. Other cases, lights would come straight after me and then get gibbed by dual PPC's. I'm really considering whether or not rushing the min range is sound advice or a noob trap.

Was it against a spider? I seem to remember something like that happening to me once when I was in one, legs stuck in terrain and weird effects on forest colony.

I get that lights dashing in with my mech that started this thread... "ohhhh gatling chain of LRMs...I'll rush him and kill him with my MGs..." and then they eat a face full of SRMs. 16 SRMs will nicely kill a locust... and won't do anything pleasant to a jenner either.

Last night, I killed a Dire Wolf in my Mist Lynx with only two cSPL by standing on his head. Towards the end of his life, LRMs starting coming at me so I dropped down in front of him, letting those LRMs jam up his rear and then polished him off from the front with one more laser pulse.

I was amused. The target was probably furious. I am not ashamed.

This was 2 years ago.

I ran out of ammo in my Oxide on Terra Therma. I typed to my other 2 remaining team mates that I was out of ammo, and that I would run down the hill first as distraction, so that they can shoot the final 3 reds in the back.

The plan worked, as an Atlas spun around thinking I was going for his back, just to expose his own back and die... I then get an incoming missile warning, so I face hugged an enemy Hellbringer between me and a LRM Maddog, causing a TK Posted Image

Crimson straight I had a nice show down with a very new ach spls build while I was in my j7r-d using 4 med lasers. We run to the side of the pass and the ach got to top of mountain thinking I can't go after him. I chase him up and down the other side of the mountain. We stop just above the tunnel entrance still up on the mountain.

I'm slightly under him and to the right of him with him slightly above me. He alphas like crazy but does no damage shooting straight above me. If he were any lower he'd have cockpit head shotted me. Apparently he didn't know about arm lock and he fired two or three alphas still doing nada to me. I was nice. I shot off one leg then shot the other to cherry red before joining the rest of my team. I did give him info on arm lock in all chat as I left.

Light pilots have to help each other out even if we are on opposite sides.

I recently outshot a fairly fresh enemy Kodiak at 500 metres with my Shadowhawk Grey Death on Frozen City. CTed him, his shots were flailing, he rage quit. Medium Inner Sphere mechs OP-ed, please nerf! I couldn't press the like button fast enough on a few of these stories, thanks all!
