They really need more maps. And the ability to play 4v4, 8v8 and 12v12.

But seriously, other then Mech Packs, how else are they going to keep themselves afloat.

Lets say each programmer, graphic designer, earns an average of $6k USD per month. They have what 30 people. They need $180k USD a month. Then server costs, rental, etc. Lets say $200k USD.

MWO has crap little small payment options. Other then Premium time and (stupid) Supply Caches, decals (that is really ...) and colours (darn you when is next colour sale). Their main way to earn money is thus.... mech packs.

Look at other games like World of Tanks, Hawken, Battlefield, LoL, DOTA2, HoTS, etc. Do they randomly generate new maps and modes fast? Err my experience no, they mainly near monthly generate new heroes or costumes.

How is MWO different? Sure Russ and gang has f-ed alot. But I think they have gotten it together and are getting better at MWO. Sure it took 3 years (I say the last year was pretty ok for MWO) but till there is a better PvP game out there that I like that is not twitch related. MWO is still really good.

I have played a ton of crap way worst and money grabbing online pvp games, that MWO is not the worst. Is not the best out there. But is the most unique gameplay. That in 1. Non-Twitch, 2. Non-Airplane, 3. Fun to Play, 4. Non-P2Win.

And stop comparing MWO to games like GTA, Battletech, XCom, etc. They are all different types of game. We need to start comparing it to other PvP online games. And then we will realise that what PGI is doing and how they are doing is not unique and they are not the worst out there.

Worst.... Sky Conflict... Enough said. MWO cannot win that game, even if Russ went cash grab crazy.

So in the end, unless people start pumping in money in other ways. I have no issues with new Mechs. And if you do, just do not BUY any. Or if you hate PGI so much, just play another game and leave the forums. Why troll and anger yourself and others by raging against something that is only making you feel negative thoughts. Go play another game, that will make you happy or do something else.

But man would I love that. And get rid or modify map voting so I can get a little more variety. Don't get me wrong, the 3 maps that are usually always picked (Canyon, HPG and Mining) are very well made but I can't for the life of me remember when I last played the ELEVEN OTHER MAPS. Game is repetitive as is, wouldn't mind a bit more map variety even if they're not the best ones.

If that trailer with the horrible voice acting was any indication due to the continual reference of clan groups as lances, well... soon...

Player retention. What you have just described is the classic death spiral of high price-low volume sales that will only diminish over time.

The player drain grows exponentially fast if you sit back and let it just happen. I saw Hawken go from multiple full servers to zero players online in just weeks, as soon as the nightly player turnout dips below a threshold, its virtually unplayable for the rest. Sure there is the odd micro-resurgence, and the PS4/X-box port as a last-ditch effort but the game was pretty much killed off by the lack of updates.

And if you ask me, that was a better game in its day too. PGI is so lucky to hold the mechwarrior license. They need to back it up with premium grade game-play to make all the premium bling worth a damn.
