...why a clan Omni mech with endo/ff, balanced engine and multiple shoulder mounted weapons ships with quirks?

Was the entire balance team busy adjusting uac jam chances on every mech except the KDK-3?

Edit: Forgot the -1 quirk tier JJs, let's add that to the list. Guess it's fine if it's only for complete set of pods, and no biggies, but the principle hurts my brain...

So that it would appeal a good buy to those who aren't sold off just from the nice jaw decals.

While I feel the set-of-8 quirks undermine the entire premise of an Omnimech, I can understand its purpose here. To discourage 'boating'... if you give people a solid reason to not simply use all of the pods that have all missile mounts, or only energy mounts, or only ballistic mounts... you are not only encouraging build diversity (good thing!) but also making balance easier (a LOT of the balance issues seems to come from boating).

And I also like the idea of incentivising build diversity, rather than nerfing boating.

I think people take quirks and such things waaaay to seriously..

Don't get me wrong, I like to have minor bonuses and all that, but the changes are so minor to me I don't really notice them..

The last such thing that I used to notice was the bonuses you got from eliteing a mech, but then they nerfed that.. so.. yeah..

Don't really care much about quirks.. I build mechs according to what get's me the most fun and fits my playstyle.. not according to quirks.

Maybe it's sub optimal, but its mega fun.

Aye, I am in favor of using full 8-set bonuses as a concept to reward not doing frankenpods to maximize boating. I just bounced on the general idea of shipping to-be-good omnis with any kind of quirks. They did it for the Nightgyr and Kodiak etc, and perhaps most shockingly for the Arctic Cheetah, all being top tier mechs even without quirks.... and failed to recognize that Orion-IIc and to some extent the Highlander-IIc would have needed it. In this particular case the quirks have the special kind of randomness so nothing to worry about as such.

That should be one heck of Incentive, cause specializing to a certain role is far better than being only somewhat decent in many of it.
