And with large hit boxes I'm gonna bank that this mech is gonna be a CT sponge. 26 double heat sinks while chain firing, or even group firing in twos might be sufficient enough to prevent it from overheating. I'm still not sold since this mech is gonna be DOA, and there are better assaults like the MAD IIC and Kodiak. Did anyone really want this thing besides MW3 nostalgia?

TBH, no I didn't want it. But I really fell in love with the art. I'm sure I will be able to make it work.

Cross your fingers that it doesn't get the Scorch pattern treatment.

30 DHS. That's what Inner Sphere mechs max out at, on a 100 ton, 400STD Engine battlemech.

Stupid cold, I should be sleeping, not messing around with heat sinks.

Clans cap out at 40, by the way, at which point they run out of tonnage, with 3 internal slots left.

Not really a useful measure. You aren't getting 30 DHS into any IS 'Mech that has both usable armor and usable weapons. Realistically, the upper ends are 22 for IS and 28 for Clans. Nominally, IS laser boats will run 17-19 and Clans will run 24-27.

I'm just glad I didn't fork out for the collectors pack on this one. Its probably going to look look like a regurgitated nasi goreng.

Not too worried about the pattern. After seeing the dev stream showing the Supernova model, the only thing i didn't like was how far back the reverse knees protruded. Kind of gave me the feeling of a jumbo Stormcrow, but I will withhold judgement until we see the model animated in game.

Correction, I recall you vowing and cussing you would (and did) before Mechcon even started, because they threw Alex a bone and allowed him to make his own mech that really isn't to far off from many other "classic" mechs. Not like they are going to pump them put left and right (yet). Really feel like you are just very petty against anything PGI does.

I am starting to feel you vets are never going to be happy with what ever PGI does, even if MW5 is great, and MWO continues to improve (FW 4.1 is a great first step, skill tree rework looks very promising, ect).

*pats you on the head*

I'd been saying if I wasn't happy with what was thrown out at Mechcon I was cancelling for over a month, but if you want to focus on just that one little part be my guest.

Of course it had nothing to do with being insulted by them throwing the bone to the community of MW5M, good luck with that one.

The fact they can't balance F.W.

Chose the waste money on 1v1,

That they change their minds in less than 72 hours, quirks are gone, we now have skill tree's.

Then suddenly they are saying mechs will have quirks because it took the community less than 48 hours to point out some glaring errors in the new skill tree.

That every attempt to make the game better turns into a retrograde effect, or they abandoned it.

All mechcon did was make me realise that I should throw away the rose tinted glasses after four years of buying nearly everything.

But if you want to think its just that carry on ;)

Wow. Better late then never, good for you!

But on the other hand, I enjoy 4.1 more then the former iterations, looking forward to the skill tree and the latest balance changes weren't completely "wtf WHY?" moments. But rarely pgi dissapoints in releasing dissapointing half baked not thoughtout not followed through solutions. So we'll see ;=)

Honestly aside from collecting purposes, I really don't see the value in the Supernova, at least from the information we have currently. I mean the MAD-IIC can do virtually every build that the Supernova will be able to do and it isn't limited to just a 325 engine cap. I mean I often run out of slots faster than I do tonnage on the MAD-IIC and this is while a 340-390XL engine so what the hell are you going to do with the extra tonnage a 325XL is going to allow? I guess you could run a standard 325 for the extra durability and still have the same firepower as a MAD-IIC that was running a larger engine but quite frankly, if that was an advantage, you could run a 325 level engine in a MAD-IIC and still have a near identical loadout as the Supernova.

So I am going to just wait an see. If once it releases something special about it happens to present itself, I might buy it then. If not maybe I will pick it up after C-bill release just to have something new to play around with for a few weeks before I go back to playing my favorites.

Slow, low hardpoints, arms will be shot off instantly. Nope.

If people are shooting arms off assaults that have TBR fat looking CTs they probably doing it wrong.

I don't understand why everyone is refusing to buy it. Where are the 60%+ that wanted PGI to keep churning out mechs every month? :P

They already bought it but don't feel the need to troll the forums.

im tempted for the ballistic variant... i don't really endorse laservomit, also the low engine cap will be even worse for a laservomit platform. but the boiler is interesting,

MAD-IIC already obsoleted it. I'm sure it'll be an okay bot, but nothing magical. Probably comparable to the Warhawk or HGH-IIC.

Theres pretty much no reason to run the supernova when theres the warhawk, which also sucks.

Bitter vets will be bitter for many reasons. What else is there more to say? PGI doesn't have the best track record with delivering their promises. I for one want PGI to improve and learn from their past mistakes. I really want this company to reach it's full potential with the battletech franchise, but from the amount of arrogance displayed from Russ and the promises that were never delivered then how could you expect anything but bitterness? If MW:O reached any level to the amount of fun I've had with previous titles I would be more than happy to patronize them. Misery loves company y'know. I'll continue to be optimistic until MW5 Mercs comes out.

An arm is much easier to shoot off, and on the Supernova-Prime that disables half its firepower. Same reason why it is a good idea to shoot off Nova's arm.
